Pedersolli will be releasing their new Silver Spur copy of the Colt Lightning rifle in February 2026. I'm going to let the early adopters shake out any potential bugs (there should not be any) and the prices to normalize after the initial run and then I'll be getting one of these to add to the Old West collection.
For the non purists they are also selling a .44 Mag version with features like a recoil pad, threaded barrel and a fiber optic front sight which seems like a NICE hunting rig to me. The price might look steep at a $2k MSRP but when you consider what originals go for (which makes them unsuitable as every day shooters) and the quality of their replicas it is not out of line. Every Italian gun I have is ridiculously well made, trouble free and a shooter!!! And if you shop around there are good deals to be had if you're into these things. Once again I wish an American Company would be putting out stuff like this Made in the USA but, we are where we are.

Uberti has been doing them for a while now just FYI. I have been lusting after a .357 mag version for a long time but never see one I can afford.

I think this is supposed to be an “improved” version of them. I have to look more into it but they start shipping in February.

Could be though I'm not sure what they could improve. My brother has the Beretta branded uberti from 15-20 years ago and it's spectacular and runs flawlessly. I have the Taurus version and even it is a good shooter.

A 357 version would be amazing….

Pump rifles never made functional and practical sense to me. But, you do you and tear it up, Turbo. Drive it like you stole it.

As stupid as it seems.

From a stability standpoint, no. Pumping the Forend dislodges and moves your front rest. And your POA. A lever gun allows one to maintain their front rest and has less disruption of the sight picture. The movement is between your two points of stability. A pump moves your front stability.

But neither were really meant to be a bench gun. Meant for real rifleman who didn’t need no rests.

This, not a bench gun and if I can shoot doubles with a pump shot gun I can shoot as fast as I need to with a pistol caliber pump rifle. It’s just a .45, recoil won’t be much of an issue…. Annnnnnnnnd I’m also not giving up my lever actions either. Just something else cool to go on the rack or saddle scabbard..

This for sure. I already have some other .357's to feed and it simplifies inventory.

I've got to side with CPJ on this one. Working a lever tries to pull the gun out of its anchor point at your shoulder, and a pump is a lot more in keeping with the modern, AR-driven school of keeping your shooting hand at the trigger while the support hand does more of the manipulations needed to keep the gun running. AND if you don't put in a disconnector, you can slam fire them like a '97 Winchester. Now if they'd just make the loading gates less stiff and put them on the left side or bottom ...

What I never could comprehend is why no one ever up-scaled the Winchester 1890/1906/62A to centerfire.

Also the price point is better. Just saw it on Midway as a coming up soon and they have it for a hair under $1,800 while most of the older Uberti ones are being sold for over $2,000 on GB.

I usually like the look of a straight stock on older style guns, but that carbine looks fantastic.

Yeah right?! I’m old enough to remember when you could still shoot .22 short pump rifles at the carnival and my old pump Winchester brings a huge smile to my face whenever I take it out to play. A few hundred rounds just evaporate making tin cans dance. This gun appeals to the kid in me and it’s also a practical gun for big boys. My plan is to set a bunch of steel plates from 20-100+ yards and just have at them shooting offhand with this and my other “cowboy” guns
