I don't normally answer calls from numbers I don't recognize but since I'm moving I'm getting all sorts of calls and I decided to take this one. It was a lovely lady named Tanya from Taylor's Firearms and she said she noticed I had an order on my cart for a few 1873 screws and she wanted to know if I needed some help figuring out if they were right for my gun or any questions about anything!!!
Now folks, this order was less than $10! I was shocked that any company would have that kind of follow up, but I shouldn't have been. My main enabling gremlin, Elk creek, does a lot of business with these guys personally and through the store he unofficially work in (that now has a bunch my retirement money) and he always told me that they were exceptionally helpful and friendly! I commented to the lady how surprised I was about the call but I told her that my buddy had told me how good they were to deal with and she asked who my friend was and she said, Oh hell yes I know him and we had a nice chat on the phone for probably 15-20 minutes! She said that if I ever need anything jus call her directly and she'll help me and she even said that if the price of an item they carry seems high, or if something is out of stock to talk with her and she'd see what she can do for me! DAMN!!!
Their selection of firearms is superb, They also have tons of accessories and spare parts for anything Uberti and other Italian brands, and they are bout to do another run of 1876 rifles and that has my TOTAL attention right now. But I've never had a company person call me for a $10 order and then spend the amount of time she did on the phone just chatting and answering my questions. That is WELL above and beyond.
On a contrasting side of the spectrum. I ordered an expensive sight from Cimarron and after waiting a few days for a confirmation and shipping email I decided to check my order history online and they had CANCELLED my order, no reason given and NO EMAIL of any kind. So from now on I buy new guns from Taylor and if I need anything Cimarron I'll buy it used. I'm kind of a vindictive prick that way.
