My favorite LGS collects lever actions, we have the same taste in guns. He took this one in on trade and figured it's right up my alley!! He had been lusting for one of my 1893 Marlins for a long time so we arranged a trade!
It's a model 62 Marlin in .30 carbine. Made in 1967. Came with two mags and what looks like two original boxes of ammo. Appears to not have been fired much. Less than 8000 made. Also made in .256 Win. Mag. Only about 6000 of those made. That one is like seeing bigfoot riding a unicorn!!
Went to the range yesterday. I belong to a private club so the gate is padlocked and members have the combo. Unfortunately, some knobhead tried to beat the lock open and destroyed the lock so now it won't open. So I grabbed the 62 and the Model 1903 some ammo and climbed through the fence. At least I got to shoot them but a more comprehensive range report when it warms up a bit!
