Does anyone have one?
I do not, but have always like the idea of one in SS to go along with my Security Six.

Or maybe it isn't a solid long lasting gun?

I don't own one but my brother does. It's a tank like most Ruger DA revolvers. Accurate to the extent I,ve used it being fixed sighted and all. Can't say I'd choose it over my 2 3/4" security six.

My dad has a first year 38 special, it was a gift from the sheriffs office in Wyoming he worked at. Great guns solid, built like a vault accurate guns. Buy one and your grandkids can’t wear it out.

Oh, my 4" Security Six would probably be the last gun I let go if I had to.

I just thought same Caliber smaller size 2.25 or 3 inch would round out my handguns.

I HAD one. I’m an idiot for selling it. Swapped the grip
For a Hogue, the factory grip was hard to…grip if you were in a hurry. I didn’t hate the factory grip, but just had to fidget with it to get it where it needed to be.

I still regret not buying one of the SP-101 .22's when they first came out for $400. Granted, $400 was more difficult to come by back then too.

Reason I ask this: a LGS that always offered me a good deal on guns, told me that SP 101s were being returned with defects. Nonway to get more details as they shut down right after the new year. I never heard that and after Looking online I found very few complaints, so figured I would ask here.

I got the 4.2" version for son #1 when he got his Eagle Scout badge, that was 10 years ago, no complaints and it shoots pretty good off the bench.

I’d go 3” if it were my choice.

I second the 3" idea.

It's a baby Redhawk or GP-100 - you're very unlikely to break one.

2.25" .357. Its a bit much with full house hand loads over a range session.
