Thought I was done with my grail guns. And then………..I had a thought.
I talked my French Model into getting this rifle years ago. Some of you will remember. Last week, while I was in his neck of the woods…….i thought…….he hasn’t shot that in awhile. So, I asked him if he still wanted it. Turns out, when you hold a gun to someone’s head, they are amicable to many things!!!
I’ve wanted a Sharps variant a very long time. Options were always absorbent prices or sub par construction. I loved this rifle the moment Jay showed it to me.
I think I’d said I was done with Grail Guns. Because I thought this last one was out of my reach. God works in mysterious ways. Bat a few eyelashes. Point a gun. And offer restitution. Amazing the doors it opens.
All joking, of course.
Well, I have my Sharps variant. Finally!!! And I’m giddy as a School Girl. Or, French Model.

Lyman Model 1878 of an 1877 Sharps. I have powder, brass, and bullets on the way. Going to run around the 405gr world. Not fast. Slow pitch softball. Way out there. Just to see. 800yrds……….here we come.
Might need a taller rear sight. Open to options.
I appreciate Jay for letting me Jedi Mind Trick him out of this gorgeous rifle. He can always have visitation rights. Sloppy Seconds and all. In reality, Jay is a great dude. Now, I gotta put out for him next weekend on his Axis hunt.

Gotta do what ya gotta do to reach the top shelf. Even if it means selling your body and soul. Well, I ain’t got a soul. So, body. In my case.

Zee has a way of getting what he wants… Been my French modeling manager for a year or 12…

Yeah. He did enable me into buying that rifle years ago. I shot it some. Not a lot. Probably less than 100 rounds out of it. It is a nice rifle.

It’s amazing how things work out. He talked me into it… I enjoyed that rifle. Even shot it a couple weeks before it went to Zee. But it was mostly a safe queen. And my friend had a desire to have it. It was time for her to move on to the next chapter in her life. It didn’t take much thought for me to send her on that journey.

I’m proud that she’s in the hands of a great friend. I’ll take sloppy seconds when I can..

Outstanding. I had one but not nearly as nice about 5 years ago. I reloaded for it, bought bp for it, cast my own bullets, and did not do the rifle justice. You are the owner of a nice piece.

Yeah. Didn’t plan it this way. But, it makes the rifle mean more.

I can tell by the pictures you are enamored with the rifle and rightly so.

I am a bit concerned though with you shooting it.
Perhaps counerweights on your feet so you don't fall over.
