Tale of two days:
Yesterday Sako, Mile high and I went to the range for a range day. I wanted to air out the 32-20 low wall. I brought the 45 colt Highwall, 357 marlin and the 32-20 marlin. I can’t say enough good things about the new 32wcf low wall. That is a fun rifle to shoot! I don’t get any pictures of the targets but my 115gr 4.5gr of unique load prints at about an inch at 40 yards. The 45 colt Highwall is a giant 22lr, no recoil low noise and a hard smack on steel, it shoots cloverleafs at 50 yards. Tom brought his 32-30 browning a 357 and a very nice 25-35 c sharps. That 25-35 is sweet!!! Dan brought a smattering of bolt guns 30-06’s a 243 and a 376 Styer! That was fun to shoot! I’ll let the boys fill you in on their shooting adventures.

After shooting we ate at Tom and my favorite Mexican restaurant here in Ft Collins. Swing by we will take you there. Then we hit the gun shop. I’ll have something to post about in 3 days…. Stupid 3 day wait!

So yesterday was 70 degrees, slight breeze and sunny. Today? Windy snowy and just kinda crappy!!

I concur, a great day at the range. Always nice when we can drag Dan along. The 32-20 low wall was a hoot with a pretty solid whack on the 100 yard steel. Never been a fan of 45 Colt but in the high wall, it's just fun.
As usual I didn't get any pics but had my Browning model 53 32-20, a recently acquired Rossi model 92 in 357 mag, Winchester model 94 Wrangler in 44 mag and the aforementioned C. Sharps model 1875 in 25-35. Only one I was a bit disappointed with was the 53, just haven't found a load it really like yet.
Dan had some interesting things to share. Shot his freshly built 376 Steyr, that was a bit thumpy but fun. Shot his 2 3/4" S&W model 69 44 mag and was pleasantly surprised. A handful with spicy loads but not bad with more mundane stuff. Oh and some Glock thing in 10mm. Alway been 10mm curious

Oh yeah I did connect 1 out of 5 rounds on a 12” steel plate at 100 yards with Dan’s Glock 10mm. That 69 is a great little gun that packs a PUNCH! 10 rounds was more than enough.

IIRC I was using 10 grains of h110 for my rifle 32-20 loads.
It was quite accurate

That's what Andy keeps recommending as well, I just haven't bought any. I have been using 2400 but I'm out now so no excuses

Stuff is buried right now so have to go by memory.

Looks like a nice range! 4.5 grains of Unique is a good load! Such a versatile powder!!

Yes you do, and after your package arrives Monday, you need to check out MP moulds.

Similarly priced to Lyman moulds, but instead of "This is what you get" you have options when ordering, such as, as cast diameter, PB or GC plus, If you want HPs, you can have one mould that can cast 3-5 different bullets.

I've bought 2 since 12/20/25. Both arrived from Slovenia in 4 days and both were so "pretty" I hated to get them dirty

Having had the pleasure of meeting and spending a day much like described with Andy and Tom remains high on my list of Great days away from home. Meeting good people, shooting several guns I never even held before, and a Mexican lunch so good I brought the wife there before we went home. And the gun shop they keep talking about? It is one of the best I have ever been to. If you are ever in the area, make it a point to meet up with these guys, you wont find better people.

I have I nice stash of 100 grain Reminton core locks. 13 grains of 4227 is really accurate in my 1873 Winny. This one iI had relined because the bore was gone!

Way to go, guys. Good to see Dan is alive and kicking.

In my initial test round I used some 4227 with ok results. It seemed the 2400 loads edged it out a bit but I should probably revisit that powder.
