Took the new savage 22 LR one
Dug out the Winchester 75 sporter 22.
My son said he hadn't shot it yet....either actually....It hasn't been out in a long time.....kind of forgot about it.

Did some comparisons between the Winchester and savage.
With different ammo.
Definitely plan to have a shootout with them.
Thus far the Winchester needs to step up it's game.
This was two different 5 shot groups with two different brands of ammo in the savage
9 shots were a 6 o'clock hold 1 was me forgetting that...lol

For sure.....especially having my son along.
Glad I reload as we were burning through hornet ammo like it was 22 LR.....I think about how expensive it iwould s for someone to just start out or shoot otherwise nowadays

Using The DST is scary light on it.
I pretty much avoid it.
It's one of the very few guns I've picked up at a gunshow.

3 of them came from Mike's place.
Either before or just after hitting the floor
The 75 had a messed up stock which equaled cheap.
The savage sporter....no mag = very cheap

Your right on these Savage sporters....you see one pick it up.
They don't disappoint

Kids are stocked up and acquainted with them so hopefully that means keepers to them.

Gonna have to do some more model number study. . .

I'd always been under the impression the 75 was the same gun as the 69A, but with a heavy target barrel. Obviously not always the case. Looks like yours has a stock and sight upgrade from what I know of 69's. Dunno. . .they put sporter barrels on 52's too, so WTH. :? :?

The model 75 like the 52 could either be a target or sporter
The sporters on either are less common.

I actually had a 75 target for a long time.
It was boringly accurate and just a one trick pony.
I'm more a squirrel gun guy.

And that’s why we do what we do. Good man!!!!

A few weeks ago I went out and took my 1958 Colt Huntsman out to play. My kids and Son-in-law are used to modern .22 pistols but after experiencing that gun I foresee a fight for it when I’m gone. Those old guns are addictive.

Yep, my daughter couldn’t miss with the Huntsman. She was ringing steel as fast as she could press that trigger. Made my SIL look good too and he’s a fair shot with a pistol but he was impressed how well he could hit with the Colt.
