I took the bushnell off the rifle and put a 4.5-14 Burris I had in my stash on the Ruger. A quick fer site in shots and off to shooting groups. Well, mini mags are OUT! They were about a 1.5 ish group. American eagle red box 40 grainers were right at an inch, but no real stacking rounds on top of each other. Federal auto match was a bit better. I shanked one shot it was a “called” flyer. The real promise I’d the CCI standard velocity. It printed nicely in a 5 round group. The trigger needs some work, it’s heavy but crisp. All in all I really like the rifle! It’s fun to shoot. Those orange dots are 3/4 inch in diameter.

Do t know if the .22 is the same but I put an aftermarket seat and spring in my M77 .280 Remington and it helped enough to make it worth while.

Well, I hate to admit it but I made a bonehead rookie mistake. I didn’t check the stock bolts on the rifle before I shot it. I was cleaning it today and was going to improve the trigger and noticed the stock bolts were barely finger tight. That could have something to do with the accuracy first day out. Trigger stoned, fixed and polished. Bolts tight!🤣

Interesting! Can’t wait to see effect. I’m a stickler for checking torque on action screws because this has happened to me several times on new and used guns so I now make NO assumptions. Usually remove the action, check to see what’s going on in there (bedding, check for cracks etc) the reassemble and straight to the torque wrench. Glad you caught that!

I removed some graphite based grease on the action screws and bolt the stock is beautiful underneath the action. Should be a very good improvement.
