The amount of abuse perpetrated upon our rights by these cameras and data centers is going to be gargantuan.

"Three more metro Atlanta police officers have been fired for misusing Flock license plate readers.
The Fayetteville Police Department said an audit found that the officers searched license plates belonging to themselves, family members, and

acquaintances — not random members of the public."

I celebrate everytime one is cut down.
And I now give the ones installed at Lowe’s the finger each time I pass by.
“But it’s for your safety! But you have no expectation of privacy in public.”
To quote the Firearms Policy Coalition: “fudge you, no. “
I can stand on a corner all day long and film. So can anyone. The difference? I’m not the government.
Would a police officer be able to surveil you across state lines 24-7 without a warrant? Not a chance.
But make it a private company, and “we are solving crimes!”
It’s like we’ve turned into Britain, but the difference is the cameras are “privately” owned instead of government owned. Even though your government (our tax dollars) pay for it….
“So Chris. You’re telling me you’d rather let a criminal go than to get pulled over by mistake because you happened to drive across state lines at times and places where known criminals were known to travel?”
You’re God Damned Right.
I enjoy my right to not be hassled. “But what if?!?!??”.
Again. fudge. You. No.

They’re even here in my little town and county. I haven’t heard a word about who’s ordered them installed.

Is this a post about " evil technology" or the " evil police officers" that are abusing it?
It seems like the cameras are kinda like guns. They are only dangerous when abused by the user.
Should we get rid of the cameras and keep the cops who couldn't be trusted with them?
Just thinking out loud.

It has become an ongoing fight with Pensacola. People vote one way, but the people elected go against the people that elected them. Seems to be an ongoing issue here in the Panhandle. The only thing being accomplished is that people who own cars but maybe not driving that day received a red light ticket in the mail, usually with a picture clear enough to see it is not the registered owner of the car driving. They still get the ticket unless the other person steps up in court and says it was me, not them. Almost all tickets challenged get tossed, The courts today seem to forget about the part about facing your accuser

Get rid of both.
Typically the POS cops that I’ve seen busted for abusing them were stalking ex girlfriends and or family. That in and of itself is creepy, and SHOULD result in jail time, and revocation of the officers accreditation. But the “down the road I goes” syndrome with POS cops is real. Do something shady in the city and the county takes you in. I’m also very anti-qualified immunity for cops, but that’s another rabbit hole.
And the cameras are dangerous, period. Abuse or not. But tracking my movements across country…qualifies as abuse.
“These only track license plates” they said at first.
Then it became
“These only track license plates, vehicle make, model, color, bumper stickers, notable damage, but NOT your face.”
Uh huh. Suuuuuuureeeeeeeeeeee they don’t.
Of course the **** in charge of Flock called people who don’t like the cameras “terrorists” a couple months ago. He’s since back pedaled on that statement. But it’s obvious he’s just doing damage control.

“But you are being tracked everywhere anyway! Have a phone? Use a credit card? See! Flock is no different!”
fudge you. No.
The major difference is that those items aren’t accessible on a WHIM by police. Those are used to sell you poop you don’t know you need. Most importantly, that info requires warrant.
“Our department has strict guidelines on when the info can be accessed, and everything is tracked, and info deleted unless there’s a crime.”
Cool story bro. Go get a warrant. And while the cops may delete the info, that info is never deleted from flock servers. Anything on the internet can be considered forver.

This is ALL part of the "Machine" that has so many apologists, both here and elsewhere. Remember, the PHOOOOOONNE is what started the normalization of this bullcrappie. But the apologetics continue!

I will vote for any politician that will pass laws to limit this nonsense. I don't care if they are Trans, anti gun, socialist, communist, lgbtqhfyrndytf, Mexican national by way of Iran, worships Alah, ex felon, named Clinto, Obama, Pelosi or Biden, whatever sacred cow you stand on. They can fudge themselves. I will gladly hand in my Libertarian membership card, for whatever 300 laws need to be passed to trample on any right of the states or businesses affected. I simply don't care.

Who the f even knows how many people will have access to this data. A scenario I heard was that insurance companies will use (are using) them to see when you drive, where you drive, how you drive, does your car have a new dent you haven't reported, and so on.......
They are already flying drones over your property to find ways to increase your premiums or drop your coverage.

A buddy of mine on Facebook was praising them for finding a kidnapped 3 year old. I responded that I still dont support their use or existence. He said "I bet youd change your mind if it was your 3 year old."
He's a gun guy so I asked him if he'd be anti gun if a family member was a victim of gun violence. Of course now his reasoning is, "But that's different."
Also, can you imagine how bland childhood would be if we wouldnt have been able to do all of those victimless crimes for fun? I'm fairly certain that blowing shìt up in the woods with your friends is highly illegal, BUT nobody got hurt. Couldn't do that with Flock around.

Odd to see so many police departments posting almost identical things on the book of faces…it’s almost like flock wrote the script for them.

They are all over my neighborhood
Im not surprised at law enforcement searching them
Here even HOAs have them. A search searches all of the flight ck cameras a particular car has passed so access via an HOA login can search for any plate

Anyone on facesuck is OBVIOUSLY not concerned about things like this.

Shouldn't we be including Alexa? What about these computers we browse on? In for a dime, in for a dollar. Too late, Pandora's box has been opened. George Orwell, "Nineteen Eighty-Four", was a prophet. I can't help but think, is our technology the Antichrist? Born of a jackal, without the mark of the beast, you can neither buy nor sell?
It's impossible to avoid today unless you go completely off the grid. No bank account, ID, or SSN. You would have to generate your own electricity, but even then, how? You have to buy the land, the solar panels, or the generator. Wait until Flock and AI are one with Alexa, Serus, and the tracking devices already in your phone, car, and appliances.

Oh we are already there. One company flock style cameras grab cell data.
All the other things you mentioned already know more about you, than you about you.
The difference is it’s not law enforcement sponsored.
But all in all, it doesn’t matter. We are going to be watched by the law 24-7. It’s just a matter of time. It’s for our safety.
All the hardcore right wing wack jobs who are for this, will get a very big surprise when the tables turn and they start getting harassed for the church they attend, the rallies they attend, and the gun stores they frequent.

I hate to admit it, but "they" already knew everything about us, before most of us even knew it was possible.
It really is too late now

The left-wing Dumocrats have already started that. In the Biden administration, Right to Life groups and Christian churches were labeled, investigated, and harassed as terrorist organizations.

The fact the the Dems would do it has always been understood by the right wing. Repubs are elected to be different. The fact that they are stoking the fire in the boiler and sending that train down the track as fast as they can is the problem. Not that the Dems did it first.

Saw today that the city of of East Canton is using the(ir?) Flockers as a speed trap. Just send the (minimum $175) ticket in the mail.

Wrong. That’s not what they are for. That’s what they said. Didn’t you listen?

In the event anyone gets a traffic ticket via usps mail that is not legal service, an “officer of the court” must serve you in person. The cases will be immediately dismissed if you contest the service else it sets a precedent.

Flock is a tiny part of the coming surveillance state. Have to ask if ai companies are spending $trillions on multiple 100+ acre data centers for applications that can operate on an average desktop. Phones and cars spew all kinds of realtime data that is combined and sold. Same with credit and debit cards.
A partial remedy leave the phone at home, drive a 10+ year old vehicle, pay cash, and dont drive through flock cameras

Don’t drive through flock cameras? So…..just stay inside?
