I got offered some real oddball clunkers earlier this week for a price I just couldn't say no to doing..

Among them was a single shot automatic.
It is funky.
Single loads from the top.
The shell ejects from the bottom.
The safety automatically engages upon putting the shell in.

Here it is

Another clunker I liked was a Cresent arms peerless in 20 gauge.
I was surprised that the Thing is 100 years old.

Forged case color receiver and armory steel barrels.

Pictures here really still mess me up.
It's a Cresent arms peerless in 20 gauge.
This one is a bit over 100 years old.
I was pretty surprised to find that out.

They were trade shotguns but well made.
Forged receivers and armory steel barrels.
The buttstock is on the rough side but barrels receiver and forearm are nice.

Be sure to check the chamber length on the SxS.....they are often short chambered....on the other hand, it's a really nice looking shotgun...

This was in the group also.
It's a winchester model 74 semi auto
It's a bit different with the safety on top.
An easily removable bolt.....push a button and it slides right out.
The bolt is long.

OH, you suck so bad! A black hole has nothing on you! Let me get this straight, one single 22, two pumps, a semi 22 and a Crescent Arms 20 gauge sxs? We need more details. What are those pumps? Winchester Gallery gun (1890) and model 61? Is the gallery gun chambered for 22 short?

The group was 4 winchester 22's and the SxS
A 55 , a 74, a 1906 and a 190

The second from the left is a Savage 29A takedown.....because he wasn't done with me.
The 74 needs a trigger guard and trigger return spring...already ordered
The 06 shoots and feeds fine but needs extractor help.

Everything else works great....including the SxS
He said 300 bucks for all of them so it was worth some risk.

So far the cheap 190 is a huge surprise accuracy wise.

The one where everyone drives a DeLorean.

I'm going to have to purge soon.
Do a total 5 s which I hate but it's time.

Just kind of an aside.
I wonder if Winchester was on to something with the 74 and removable bolt.
By what I've looked up there easy to clean from the breech and accurate.

The 1906 should be an old friend and fit comfortably into your collection of Win pump 22s. That design had quite a run! From way before 1906 to well into the 1940s.
