Got the word to day that Teach's wife Mary passed away in her sleep in the early morning hours of Oct 5th...Mary was one of the sweetest most hospitable people I've ever met....

So sorry to hear this, I had posted a picture that she wanted for a painting she was going to do so I sent her a copy. Don't know if she ever painted it.

The hospitality that Mary and Jerry showed me when I first turned up to attend the SE was humbling. They treated me like very close family and I will always remember it and subsequent visits with fond memories.
RIP Mary.......You will always be a angel to me.

Ms Mary was welcoming and kind to all of us visitors.
I will always think of her as the Commander of the Apron Brigade. Even the ladies all had fun. Rest in Peace Ms Mary

She was fabulous - and a very special person indeed. I don't say Rest In Peace, I say Dance In Joy!

How's Teach? Anyone know?

That breaks my heart. I've had contact with her and Teach at least 25 years. I met them on the All Outdoors Wedsite. When it failed I was broken hearted but found them again on Modernsportsman, that was the best website I've ever been on. Mary's handle was Seasonal Wife but we called her Mama Bear. Mary was a true force of love and the glue that kept us together. I still have contact with some of those members. I'll always cherish our first meeting, her hospitality and the hug...Oh the memories....
Saints can walk this earth and she was one of them! It is strange how folks we never have much contact can touch our hearts so deeply.

Jerry is active the on 24 hour campfire website. I don't visit there but will today.

Jerry and I parted ways

Mrs Mary was a sweetheart though. Only once did I ever hear her raise her voice. That was during one of the SE shoots and one former member was being an ass and Mary told him,forcibly, to knock it off. Of course, he did. You didn't cross Mary

It was the first, or one of the first times my wife attended, and even she asked, "Is that guy always a jerk?"

RIP Mary, you were the epitome of a true southern woman.

Damn. She was a great lady and will be missed.

I only met her once at the SE Shoot and she was definitely very kind and accommodating. I really hate this part of life for the folks left here longer.

Well that just sucks... She was a hell of a lady. The Earth is diminished by her passing.

Oh no. Bless her soul.

Like Freezer I met Mary and 'Teach' on Modernsportsman.com Although I am in England we used to keep in touch but some time ago I lost contact. Great folks..
