Especially compared to the Vortex equal.
1-8x w/30mm tube & MRAD reticle and turrets.

Damn! That is intriguing. I pretty much set aside the distance/precision rifle game back when we were still wrecking our brains with the less-than-ideal combo of mil reticles and 1/4 MOA turrets, so I never made the conversion to the much tidier 1/10th mil clicks.
Most of the "carbine-appropriate" LPVO's I've perused are using some reticle that's calibrated for a particular round (I.E. 62 grain 5.56) or coarser 2/10th mil W&E increments. This thing's claiming the same control layout as the big gun scopes lacking only the big magnification. The second focal plane isn't a big issue on the assumption that if you need to be ranging, you'll probably be at 8X anyway.
I second Zee's prodding - somebody buy one!

I've got the Vortex and I wish that I would have gotten the 1x6 . 7x and 8x get fuzzy on the edge of the view so I never turn it up past 6x.

I agree. I ran the Strike Eagle for a week and a shooting course and when it came time to spend cash, I went with the Viper instead.

I have the Strike Eagle 1-6 and do not have that problem.
Actually like it a lot once I got used to the reticle

I’ve run the 6x and the 8x and have noticed the 6x Strike Eagle to be better than the 8x companion. Something in those last 2x Mag gives up the ghost.
That’s why I want someone else to try the scope above and tell me if the 8x works.

I've been eyeing the Brownells in house optics for a while, especially as the prices drop. With that said, I've been so pleased with my Vortex Razor HD Gen II-E 1-6 I've never felt the need to pull the proverbial trigger.
