The spotlessly clean dining room is equally impressive!

Sounds like those never actually got into production back in the day. Never played with a '75, but it looks like Sharps came up with something that was better than his barely-improved-from-the-paper-cartridge-1859 Model of 1874, but couldn't overcome the momentum of what he was already tooled up to make.

Interesting cartridge choice by whoever commissioned it originally. Pretty high-class 'yote buster!

My understanding is it was a transitional design that attempted to lighten the overall weight of the 1874 but, as you said, never made it into production and was eventually replaced by the 1878 model.
I like the 1875 model. Just as robust as the 1874 but a bit more streamlined.
This is my second one. My other is a 40-65 WCF

Both very interesting. Do you have much problem sourcing ammo or are you making your own?

I have correctly head stamped brass for the 40-65 WCF but it can be easily made from 45-70 brass.
The 25-35 WCF is pretty scarce so I will be attempting to make cases from 30-30 brass for the time being.

I like them both!! BIL Has the 1885 in 40-65, uses at the Quigly shoot! If you get in a pinch, I have some spare .25-35 brass! :D

You would be my forever hero if you have brass to spare. Even a single factory case for comparison would be very helpful.
