Dagger range report

Got the slide and a glock factory mag yesterday, picked up the frame today.
Got 3 Magpul P17 mags today.
Had decided it was time to swap out my carry ammo. So had 43 assorted rounds Speer, Federal, some Remington I have no clue how old it was and some Norma.
First thought, grip feels GREAT. The changes PSA made fits me WONDERFULLY.
First con: when putting the slide and frame together, I had something happen that has NEVER happened with either my gen 1 G19, or Gen 1 G22.
There's enough slack in the frame to rail fit, that I went OVER the rear rails with the slide. It happened on 2 different occasions
Okay, just because I wanted to see what happened, I didn't lube anything. It shot those 43 rounds without a hitch. Hit POA, nice, metal 3 dot sights
Typical glockish trigger
Tried to load one of the p17 mags this evening, CANNOT get more than 16 rounds in it.
And before anyone starts either the "No picture, no gun" or "No picture, $5 fine." NOT in the mood

The reason there are no pictures or videos cost me a helluva lot more that either the gun or the imaginary $5 fine. My phone got crushed and I'm unable to get anything off of it

Actually I can only get 16 in ANY of the 3 "17rnd" Magpul mags

I recall the magpull mags being a little stiff at first. They also seem to be twitchy sometimes, like if I thumb off a round they take a second to raise the next in line.
Enough so that they are getting relegated to range mags. I’ll buy another genuine Glock mag for backup.

I haven't fired a round through them, The only mag I had when I went to the range was the real Glock one. The Magpuls aren't impressing me.
I like having the count holes in the rear, instead of JUST the "full" hole in the side, ESPECIALLY since I can't get the last round in them

I've had no major issues with MagPul Glock mags. I do seem to remember, however, that they were a squeeze for full capacity when new. I'm awash with standard Glock mags so never had the need to use the PMags for carry, but I would without any real hesitation. They are no factory mag, but they are less than half the price and they make a USPSA Carry Optics legal 21 rounder.

I run PMags for my Glocks without issue.

It's not your kit gun - I've seen guys do it with OEM Glocks plenty.

Make sure you slide your rounds ALL THE WAY to the rear wall of the mag when you load them. I learned back with the .40's that they can hang up if you don't; it holds true with the 9mm's, plus (I think) due to the tapered body of the 9mm case, you can get one that rattles obnoxiously when you shake the mag if you omit that.
As to the round count holes, I think I'd rather carry the P-Mags (which would be loaded to capacity and no other way) and use the OEM's for training courses (where you might have to load five in one, ten in the next, etc...).

I just finished a project. I'm amazed that it's actually G26 smooth. Shown with the only glock mag I have at the moment.

I carry factory mags in my guns and occasionally run 21/27 round Pmags as reloads. Figure if it’s bad enough I need to reload……

My dagger and two Polymer80s only use PMAGS. Never had an issue that was not caused by my ‘build quality’
BTW, if PSA was doing the deals they are now back when I was building the P80s, I never would have done the P80s. The Dagger frame is so cheap, there is no reason to other than the pleasure of building a ‘Spooky Boi’

My only complaint, so far, is holsters. Mine won't fit in either Glock holster I have

From what I read online, P80 ironed out whatever issues their older frames used to have. I don't have any experience with their older stuff but the one I posted above is ridiculously smooth and has no perceivable things that would make you think it wasn't a glock, outside of the stippling. I also like the beavertail incorporated into the rear. And the slide and barrel was an aftermarket ebay find.

If anyone's interested in buying a dagger slide w/o a barrel, Aim Surplus has their blem G19 barrels, regular or threaded, for $29.95

I had the same issue. I ended up just buying the parts to build the holsters off of
www.holsterbuilder.com.
