New Mexico Gov. "suspends" 2A rights.

Under the guise of reducing gun violence she's "suspending open or concealed carry" for 30 days.

2 state legislators have already called for her impeachment. She violated federal law and theoretically could be arrested.
There are so many things wrong that a sitting governor would think this is a good idea.

When asked if she thought this conflicted with the Constitution or her oath to uphold it she said:

"No constitutional right, in my view, including my oath, is intended to be absolute,"

Just my tinfoil hat theory.

When a guy like David Hogg says you went too far . . . you probably went too far.

David Hogg 🟧
@davidhogg111
"I support gun safety but there is no such thing as a state public health emergency exception to the U.S. Constitution"

As of late, I feel like David Hogg is one of the few gun control advocates I have any respect for. Between statements like this, and the apparent fact that he has gone shooting and/or joined a gun club "to learn the other side," at least by all appearances he is trying to flesh out objective opinions. Whether I agree with him or not. Or it might all be grandstanding for the internet.

I was going from memory of when he began his crusade.

I'll retract the "twit" part.

I love Fenix ammunition.

Go buy something from them. A sticker at least. And In the notes tell them why you bought it. Support those that support us.

NM folks need to go for a stroll through the streets of Albuquerque while open carrying with a few thousands of their closest friends to send her a message…

It would be interesting to see the reactions of LEO'S who swore to uphold the Constitution.

I think most would just quietly observe and some would join in. Most LEOs are currently not fond of political “leaders” on the left…

Plus their jobs are to enforce the law and this edict is no law. There would be zero accountability for them if they do nothing.

I guarantee every leo that's close to their pension and has the backing of faux law muscle behind them will gladly "just follow orders."

Someone on social media pointed out that this same Governor removed qualified immunity from police in NM last year. Which means that any officer that arrests someone for excercising a constitutional right can be brought up on federal civil rights charges and sued as well.

This could get REAL interesting

Let me guess: New Mexico is now at the point where cops are starting to say "Our judicial system is unwilling to keep even real, actual violent criminals in jail, so why am I risking my ass to try to put them there, while risking civil lawsuits for just doing my job.". Methinks the average, law-abiding CCW-holder minding their own business will be getting ZERO static from the rank and file.

Smells like a trial balloon to test the public and court responses. There will be many more public health emergencies over the next 16 months should this one succeed.

So far the county and police in affected areas have said they won’t be enforcing it.

I'm glad to hear that. I figured the opposite would happen.

I wonder if they're guided by principle or fear of lawsuits?

On the other forum I frequent, there's a few Leo's and retired ones that were up in arms about the loss of qualified immunity ordeal. Another member threw the old quote back at them that hey use of "Well if you aren't doing anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about." I found that one funny because they didn't respond.
