I've somehow managed to do that twice in 5 months. Thankfully I have insurance and got new screens both times. Weird being without a phone for even 2 hours. Sorry that happened to you.

Wow. I've never had that happen! I even dropped my phone the other day onto a hard tile floor. Just picked it up, no damage. ;)

I made sure it was still working by lifting the ear piece and asking Clara to connect me to Klondike 5455.

Same! My iPhone and iPad have survived abuse that would make a Nokia brick quiver ;)

Uh, it looks like the Ape's descriptor "crushed" is important here. More than, you know, dropping it.

Kinda looks like it got runded over.

My iPhone got CRUSHED between me and the sharp edge of a table when I fell from a ladder and it took my whole weight on it. Probably saved me from a busted hip. Screen cracked but it still worked, and I just got a new one through my insurance.

DING DING DING, we HAAAAAAVE a WINNER

It spent ~45 minutes laying in the left lane of US highway 82 west bound before I found it. It's not a question of IF it got "runded over" just how many times and by what. Since I was picking up my tractor at the time, and it got set on the back bumper when the wife called, while I was hooking up the trailer (and forgotten) It's quite possible one or both axles of my 22' 7k trailer hit it, and also quite possible that other vehicles hit it as well
