Until today, I'd never heard of it until I saw a box of ammo listed on a website.
I did later find this article about it.

It's another "meh" for me, until it establishes some history

Anyone else know anything about it, or are you as surprised about it as I am?

Not my cup of coffee but if people are interested, good on them. I also thought the .350 Legend was silly, but it is apparently pretty popular in states that require straight wall cartridges for hunting.

Personally, if I have to have a straight wall cartridge to hunt, I'll take a .45-70 for tradition's sake.

Unfortunately, many of the "straight wall" states also have a max case length of about 1.8" could be a bit off on that but the 45-70 does not qualify.
Nor does the 444 marlin, 375 Win, 38-55 Win and so on. So these cartridges do have a place.
I have been intrigued by the 350 Legend, had an upper but never got around to trying it before my brother talked me out of it. It's somewhat hampered by the .355 Bullet as designed but has some merit I think. The 400 Legend might have better staying power since there are at least a few 40cal rifle bullet designs.

Winchester makes it , case length 1.65, coal 2.125 - 2.260, 215 gr. bullet, MV 2250, ME 2416, its on the web if your interested.

Cartridges are like genders these days.

This article is a little slanted in that, they don't include the 360 Buckhammer. The 360 BH performs the same as the other three but uses a common 358 rifle bullet. A no-brainer for the hand loader.

I have a box of .400L and a box of .360 BH ammunition at home. No gun for either. I just like to have things to compare to and see what the manufactures might be doing. I cant say i am really impressed by the .400. It slots between a .350L and a .450BM. Just build a .430x1.8 and surpass both. I have only gotten a few .450 BM guys to try my little .458 at the range. Generally they dont want more than one shot with it. Its not that bad.
