I just picked this up and I'm starting to learn some about them.
Pretty interesting design that could fire 3 rounds in the time a traditional muzzle loader would fire one.
The parts were also interchangeable so quite a leap in production/manufacturing processes.
It's also rifled.
The stock is most likely a replacement as they were known for breakage.
I'll likely do a complete tear down and a long soak of the metal parts in an ATF/kroil mix.
Then I think I'll try it out.

That is very interesting. Looking forward to seeing how a oil bath effects it

That is interesting. Seems I've seen that design before but have no idea what it is.

Interesting, would that qualify as a muzzle loader to hunt that season? What is the side by side next to it?

If I read correctly it should be 52 caliber.

I was wondering about that also.
I'd think yes.
The SxS is an old German 16gauge.
Pretty neat gun.
The maker I couldn't dig up much info about though.

That would be it.
This one did get rifled.
I haven't torn it down yet but did apply a liberal amount of kroil to loosen thing up.
This I took just before doing it.

I'm not even sure what size yet but thanks.
I did try and do some measurements today.
Probably going to have to slug the bore though on this one.
The timing was good.
A guy dropped a bunch of guns off to get an idea of prices.
Some he left some he was taking away.
I caught him as he was taking this away.
