New wheels on the old wheels
I had some pics up on the old forum, but I dont remember if I did any of this thing being active. The black ops fund was severely curtailed due to making my family deductible by 2 Jan, so I did what was needed and just a little of what I wanted. I got some old school wheels from Summit and new sneakers. Replaced shocks, plugs, wires, fluids, all vac lines (everything runs on vac, headlights, wiper door...) Fixed the speedometer and tachometer, interior and exterior lights. Basicly all the normal and 26 year neglected stuff and what was needed to put it on the road fairly safely.
Made a lot of short runs. Since it was hot I took the wife out for ice cream a lot. Found and fixed little stuff. Now that I think we are pretty sure to be able to return, we have been taking it out to dinner and picking places a bit farther out. (notice the spousal inclusion, VM not born yesterday) Its fun and she gets a kick out of it also. Went out for Dads day and parked about 4 spaces from a C5 red corvette, people walked past it to check mine out, it was funny.
The more I run it, the more it seems to smooth out. I am guessing that there was some surface rust in the cyl or on the rings. I had blowby on 2 plugs and some heavier oil usage. The usage has slowed and probably can be accounted for by the leaks around the pan (54 y/o they leak). I still intend to get it rebuilt, but for right now, cruising and not beating it I think we will hold off a little while.

Love it.
The nice (different strokes and all) thing about the spousal inclusion is that it’s a convertible. It’s going be hard for her to talk over wind noise.

That is, by a WIDE margin, the best looking series of Corvettes ever made.
Just a gorgeous machine. Well done.

That is 100% the biggest thing I miss from my Jeep. Even when the top was up, it was too noisy to ‘talk’

Hot Wheels come to life. That's a great looking road machine there.

Its my late mid life crisis. Of course that may work for me. I could have increased my longevity 25 years past the norm.

Bet it was a long winter to get to play with the new toy..., looks pretty nice from here.

Ya know.... I have been on the quest for 34-35 years..
These have been in my gun room before I had a gun room. One was given to me because it was the best they could do for me, the other from a person who figured that it was the best I was going to do.
