Long story short, the neighbor and I don't get along ever since he tore my fence down without asking me to set up a 40' section of privacy fence and then broke my gate hasp and trespassed into my backyard to paint his fence. He tried to justify his actions because my German Shepherds bark at him for the 5 minutes they're outside. We had it out BAD over that.
Today I get a camera notification and take a look while I'm at my shop, dìckhead was blowing the leaves from his yard into mine. He's the one with the maple tree in his yard. I don't even have a single tree on my property. I take that as him saying you.
I try to be nice and mind my own business and don't bother him. I raked every last one of those leaves back into his yard without touching his property line. He'll see in the morning. Anyone else ever deal with this? This guy has proven to be unreasonable in the past. He's in his late 50's (for reference.)

If I don't somehow put a line in the sand, I have a feeling he will become even more emboldened. I've grown well past putting my ego into these types of situations. I just want left alone.
2 choices, 1) Call the popo, show them the picture and have them "ask" him to quit. 2) Take a copy of the pic to a lawyer and have them send him a "Cease and Desist" letter. Or I guess a 3rd choice, do both
For some unknown reason, certified letters on a law firm's letterhead seem to do WONDERS with someone's attitude.
Neither of which should get you in any legal hot water
Edited to add: I've used both over the last 20 years to get the apartments across the street from blowing all their crap across the road and into my yard.
Reason for both were different managers and different landscape companies. The popo visit lasted for a while, and the cease and desist letter was sent to the landscape company's main office. I got a VERY apologetic phone call from their manager

Invite him over for a beer and a burger, and talk to him like a man. You gotta live next to the dude.
That ship sailed a loooong time ago when he did the ordeal with my fence and then tried to act like he was entitled to do it. Never considered what Paul mentioned btw.
Been there a few years back
My take looking back is that I expended far too much energy and let some un hinged putz ruin far too many hours of my life.
My take
1. Confront the behavior immediately and firmly and directly no extra words and no apologies. No screaming and ranting.
2. Demand a remedy ie clean up the leaves.
3. Repeat as necessary
do not let yourself get wound up over whatever happened.
Do not waste ANY energy being pissed off.
Find a diversion like take your wife to lunch or something and don’t discuss it.
Well if anything is gonna come to a head, it'll be tomorrow morning when he wakes up and sees the leaves back in his yard. He will either get the hint or double down on the level of stupidity. I promise I'm not this petty. I just want left alone and afforded the same respect that I give.
I’m lucky in that I don’t talk to any of my neighbors. I don’t bother them, they don’t bother me.
Oh I have, but I have enough sense to not put things on the internet that's I don't want everyone to know

Just smile and stay calm. Inform him that you realized that he mistakenly blew his leaves into your property. You were not busy so returned them. You can always jump up and down and yell and scream. But once you do, the only thing left is to bruise some knuckles. Don't need an accusation of anger issues in your line if work.

This will be my line of action. And you're spot on about my line of work. Many things keep me in line, including my family, freedom, etc.. but many times I consider ALL that I could lose in a heartbeat for escalating a situation that's currently in the "pissed off" stage.
The weird thing is that the older I get, the calmer I've become but I have absolutely no patience or tolerance for stupidity.

Not that weird IMO. Seems to happen to a lot of us as we get older, myself included.

The cease and desist letter seems like a pretty solid course of action if talking it out like civil men has not been working. You're entitled to not being harassed on your own property.

You said it yourself, there's cameras everywhere. Start setting up some cameras for 'security' purposes and make sure you also cover the trouble areas.
You'll have your proof for legal action right on video!
...
If that doesn't solve the matter, upload all of your video and post it online labeled, "Jackass Cam!" May as well make money off the dillhole, if he won't take a hint.

Truth is he probably thinks you’re as big a problem as you think he is. Any truthfully you’re probably both not wrong.
Also over the years I’ve come to learn no ones dogs can ever do wrong.
My dogs literally go out long enough to go pee and poop. They don't stay out, and aren't "outside dogs", nor have they ever been. I can't stand a barking dog, so I know he's an idiot because when they've barked at him, I immediately go yell at them and call them in. He's just a judgemental àsshole that hasn't learned his place in the neighborhood.
