Anyone here done any epoxy projects.

I’m looking to start small. I have my epoxy and die. I’m about to make the mold this weekend and pour..

And tips, tricks, steps I need to be aware of?

It does, however, take a certain amount of stick-too-it-evness to make it work

Let us know how it goes. I'm kicking the idea around of building a wood working shop to make cutting boards and small epoxy projects in my retirement years.

Good luck!

The only thing that comes to mind are the countertops Jerm did in his house.

My DIL is big into it. A vacuum chamber gets rid of all bubbles for clean projects.

I’ve done a few epoxy inlays in wood. I either use the cnc router or the laser to cut the design then fill with epoxy. Make sure to get your mix right other than that it’s pretty simple.

Wasn't there a thread about knife making and someone was putting "grooves" in the spine of the blade and then filling them with epoxy?

I did that years ago, had a thread on the GaY forum.

Yup, these were done a few years back - we had a pretty lengthy knife thread going on the old forum. The metal hack is a bit time consuming but the variations with colored epoxies made the hobby kind of addictive...while the 2 shown here a basic black/navy you can create just about any look you want.
