Surprisingly, it was 65%+ charged when I took it out of the package. It's quite a bit smaller than I even expected. It's slightly thicker, but in height and width is ~1/8" wider and ~1' shorter than a pack or Marlboro 100's.
Since it had some charge to it, stepped out back and tried it with the 6" Victory and some CCI Mini-Mag Segmented and the subsonic segmented

is the result from the mini-mags. The segmented SSHPs averaged 967fps.
Considering how easy set up was, I AM A FAN!!!!

How far away from the bullet path can it be?
Does it read at further distance or just the muzzle?

1) Don't know. For handgun it says 5-15" below the muzzle
2) just MV

Thanks for the report. If I were in the market for a chrono today I would likely jump in line for one of these.

I look forward to seeing what you think as you use it more.

Unless something unforeseen pops up, I don't see myself falling out of love with it.
Small, light, easy to set up. What's not to like?

Mrs. Pegasus gifted me a Xero C1 yesterday and since I can't just step out into my backyard and rest it out with a firearm, I read the included documentation and downloaded the full manual, and installed the app.

It does not measure muzzle velocity, it looks like it measures at about 20 yards downrange. That's important because calculators like JBM ask for that distance and it will be different from what my MagnetoSpeed provides.

Later this week, I will be using during load development.

I took my Garmin Xero to the range today. I was starting a new barrel and then ran a ladder test to tune the initial load. The Xero recorded every shoot with aplomb and I recorded 7 sessions, one for each load in the ladder and the first series of shots.

The device is excellent, and so simple to use, which is a good thing for an old geezer like me. Two hooves up, highly recommended.
