So, I may or may not have succumbed to a sale price on a complete upper so chambered. I have absolutely no use for it but intrigued nonetheless.
Anyone else fall victim to this cartridge and if so, what are your thoughts?

Feeding issues and subpar accuracy from what many people tell me.

I was tempted by the low cost of factory ammo, but, got the .300 BO instead

I live in one of the states that permit some straight walled cartridges in a limited firearm zone. While I have a different shoulder smasher, the .350 does have my interest. Based on past experience in a Ruger American, feeding has not been an issue with a single feed magazine. A previous attempt at getting a R700-AAC to feed a .358x1.71 was unsuccessful due to the staggered feed. Work was stopped before things were modified beyond a point that could still work with a .223. I do have a single shot break action to play with as well. I would like to see what I can push it to. Where I nap in the woods it should work just fine.

I found that the Ruger does not care for the correctly sized .355" bullets. I also found that using the claimed correct size bullet of .357" will result in the bullet being pushed back into the case by the throat. it had negative freebore so to speak. I found my best results on paper using Speer 180gr .358" Hot-Cor bullets resized to .356".

Thanks all for the comments. The upper was cheap enough I thought I'd give it a try. I have been following a thread on another forum by a guy experimenting with cast bullets in the AR platform and having pretty good luck it seems. I'm going to try something similar. I have a bunch of 170 &190gr GC SWC's for the 357 I can resize to fit so once it gets here, that's the plan.We'll see how it goes.

Both mine and my brother's uppers have feeding issues. My upper groups an honest inch at 100.... not a tack driver, but not bad for it's intended purpose either. (lower Michigan deer hunting)

Have you been able to identify a cause? I've read magazines can be an issue. I did buy magazines supposedly designed for the 350 in hopes of mitigating that problem. If I can do an inch at 100 with mine I'll call it good.

Buddy of mine lives a very mobile lifestyle, and paired down his collection and standardized on the 350L as being his “non magnum” rifle. He may end up in an area that does not allow bottleneck cartridges for hunting, so he has a CMMG 350 that he uses for hunting, plinking and defense.

His is pretty accurate and very reliable. It works for him.

Yes. He is factory ammo only. When I played with it, it was the “hunting load” out of the first 3 that were launched. He also kept reminding me that in the last panic, he was the only one that was finding ammo on the shelves.

We have been using the dedicated magazines for them. Quite frankly, neither one of us has taken the time to investigate the feeding issues with ours yet. I will say that being a long skinny straight walled cartridge is probably the biggest reason for it.

That and 6mm Creed were just about the only ammo I found anywhere during the last panic. There’s still like a half a shelf of it at Sortsmans Warehouse. No shortage there.

Let me know how it works out for you. I might re-develop the itch that I initially had when the round was introduced. It would probably become the "semi-permanent" home of one of my NV scopes for hogs

Hopeful to get to the range next week. The only ammo I currently have is the cheap 145gr FMJ range ammo so we'll see.

All in all a pretty good looking rifle, I have two of BCA's side charging uppers but have not fired the 7.62x39 yet and only a few rounds through the 300 Blackout.
Am also very interested on how the 350 Legend does.

I'm in a state with a stupid restriction on lead projectiles. The .350 Legend was cooked up for states with stupid restrictions on cartridge design. Then we might also have to consider states with stupid restrictions on semi-auto arms.

When I add up the possibility of all three of those being combined, I like the idea of the .360 Buckhammer a little bit more, mostly due to it's use of ubiquitous .358" diameter bullets in proper weight ranges designed to expand correctly at rifle speeds. The Legend's using .355's, and a 115 grain all-copper 9mm designed to do it's thing at 1100 fps isn't my ideal choice for a big game slug.

Headspacing on the case mouth for a full-powered rifle round also gives me a little pause.

Remember WMG’s project of welding up the gas port on a Yugo SKS to make a single shot straight pull 10round repeater to hunt in PA?
