I'm currently working my way through "Centennial" by James Michener, which is proving to be fascinating. After that I have "The Road" and "Blood Meridian" by Cormac McCarthy in the queue, and although I find his writing to be growing more and more cringy with the blatant product placement, Jack Carr's "Only the Dead" is in line as well.

This forum.
I don’t care for books. Never have. And time is getting shorter every trip around the sun, so doing things I don’t like doing….I’m doing less of. About the only thing I’ll have to read are some fire code books to up my certification. Which is about as fun as slamming your balls between two books.

Centennial is a great book! I have a reading handicap, and Centennial was the first book I read cover to cover. I have read most of Michner's novels, including "Space", "Alaska" and "Journey". His research and attention to detail is amazing!
I've read a lot of historical books, biographies, Native American history, and cultural development. One of the most interesting books I've read was "Guns, Germs and Steel", it changed the way I look at the world. An explanation on how and what it takes for a society to develop from hunter-gatherers to a modern society or nation.

For you guys who like WWII "The Admirals", "The Generals", Bradly and best of all "Eisenhower" are must reads. I never understood why Bradly isn't in the Limelight of WWII, so I read his biography, a great and humble man.

Started on the sequel, then COVID happened and I decided to wait to see how the book is going to end...

Been reading "Guns, Germs, and Steel" off and on. It's about some ideas of why European/Asian cultures became the world's dominant forces and not African or one of the ones from the Americas.
