I'm sure those two aren't related.

I quit sending them money years ago. I used to think they were a good organization

They also let other issues go by, and let’s not forget about Leisure Suit LaPierres corruption.

At this point I view them as a scapegoat. Someone to take the heat from the anti gun crowd while organizations like FPC do real work.

I did the "instructor" training for the scouts. Unimpressed is a good word. As to competition, they are a PITA so much so that at the range I frequent it is pretty much 100% CMP. Dont send cards, dont support, but by god they are ready to take the money.

Read this on another forum. Good riddance. How a stuffed penguin in a suit could EVER represent me or my values is beyond me. Hopefully this will be the end of the rot at the top - but I doubt it.

I’ve been around gun store commandos squawking about being NRA instructor certified.
I’ve also heard them proclaiming their expertise at training HSLDTMF (High speed low drag tactical mother fudgers) cops, and military types.

Cant disagree with abandoning CA. The membership is nationwide and you cant keep throwing good money after bad when there are fights you can win.

After I quit the NRA, I would return their post paid requests for $ by writing "Maybe after Wayne is gone".
I had to do that 4 or 5 times if I recall.

I did the lifetime membership thing a few years back when they were doing the deeply discounted rate. It's been handy. The range I belong to requires membership, & I attach the shipping label from the cover of Rifleman every year when I send in my annual renewal. It's about the only part of the magazine I consistently "read".

Haven't felt much of an urge to send them more money since. CRPA has been doing the lion's share of our legal battles since Heller and Bruen, and at least leaves a sense that your money isn't simply evaporating.

It's interesting that he already, voluntarily "paid back" $300,000 before he was even taken to court.
