Me?
No.

I’ve got a bag O knives that I have in my truck. . Separate gutting and skinning knives. And saws. There’s no “one” knife I’ve found that does it all. So, I want multiple knives and tools.
What say ye?

No. Belt mounted knives interfere with my hip belt on my pack. I keep on in a pocket (Old Reliable Benchmade Griptillian) and a few in the pack.

I always thought the term "hunting knife" was a little weird.

It depends. I don’t really have “hunting knives”, I have a bunch of knives and I carry whatever I think will do the job of the day.

When I hunted my own property I usually had a belt knife on me all the time because most of the time I did not carry a pack in my own backyard. Everything I needed was in my pants and parka pockets.

Nowadays I hike and drive off-road in the desert and mountains way more than hunt (that will change later this year), and I normally have a knife on my belt when I’m off-roading in my Jeep or out hiking for a few hours. For those activities I don’t normally carry a backpack as such, usually just a Hydration bladder carrier type small pack and any spare pockets on it usually carry first aid crap, energy bars and such.

In general, I like a fixed blade WAY more than a folder for just about any task and I have enough 2-3” blades that carry inconspicuously on my belt, even around town, and they are right there when I need them for any task, and I’m lucky enough to spend most of my time these days in places and areas where no one gives a belt knife a second look so I take advantage of this.

Well if the only time you use a knife of a particular style is when you’re hunting….its….a hunting knife. A Schrade Sharpfinger makes a great skinning and gutting knife. It wouldn’t be worth a poop for batoning through a piece of firewood. So….hunting knife. And the term conjures up certain knife styles so suited for hunting/game work.

EDC in pocket. Gut & cut kit in the pack.

Recently threw a Havalon Piranta in the buttstock ammo pouch on the new Hawkeye along with a couple spare blades and a piece of string for butt-cut tie off. I figure it's a good minimalist approach if I decide to strip down and run through the woods all Last-of-the-Mohicans. I wheeze a lot more than Daniel Day-Lewis

I carry a Schrade Old Timer in my pack. It's all I need for field work. I have a complete knife kit in the truck for when the animal is in the air. I used to wear my knife upside down on my shoulder strap when I hunted alone in the N Cal. Cascades. There are a lot of cougar where I hunted.

All hunting situations are different. Or small game I carry a Case trapper or sodbuster. Deer/pronghorn/Yogi I carry a Buck 110 folder, elk/moose I like a Buck 105 Fixed blade
