Seems to be easy enough, name the top price youll pay and it bids enough to keep you in the lead up to the max amount you choose. Is this a good way of doing the gunbroker thing?
And yes, I see I mispillt Gun Borker

It's the same thing as Fleabay. I don't think it's a bad thing. Let's you know sooner rather than later if you will be out bid.

So if your max is $125 and I try and bid $100 it won’t let me?

It will probably tell you that your max bid is too low. When I do bid on things on Ebay I usually set a max bid for the most im willing to pay and then let it tell me I have been outbid shortly after when someone else wants it more than I do.

Must be an old single shot rifle.......
I just did a quick peek at Gun Borker and then proceeded to close that window before spending money.

It would be so cool. I have it built in my head already. It would make a purist barf, (milsurp people are weird) but anyone else would think it was cool. And no matter it would be better than what the current bastardization is.

I have a few surplus rifles that will remain as they are. I also have a few rifles built off of stripped down surplus rifles that if I had left alone would be worth far more today than when I purchased them.

Judging from the unmolested prices on GB, I wont ever be defiling one. Im not against it, but wont pay stupid money to do it.
Oh. And the other dude just beat my latest bid.
I think Ill give it a day or so. Or, may just giver and see.

Just do like Ebay and be a last second sniper. Lost out on a lot of things due to a higher bid coming in with seconds left.

It will take your bid as long as it’s higher that the current price and then automatically bid the other guy to $101. It’s a great way to bid, I use it all the time.

Wont work.
15 minute rule. If you try and snipe in the last 15, it pushes the time out another 15 minutes. Keeps doing that till no one bids in that 15 minute period.

Now, someone needs to contact the guy Im bidding against and tell him the receiver is broken and that he shouldnt bid on it. Or that Im buying it so I can donate it to charity. The Me fund.

Concrete shoes. . .
Cyanide. . .
TNT. . . DONE DIRT CHEAP!
CPJ. . .something you might ponder for this project is an 1885 low wall with a fragged out bore. The rims on the .32-20 and .25-20 would be pretty close, and if you were still jonesin' for a .357 Max, the in-line loading method would work much better than a Cadet's ramp. Functionally, both are load and shoot - it's only the Italian 1885's and maybe some goofy set-trigger models that default to half cock on action close.
Fella named John Taylor up in the Pac NW (IIRC) does a quality bore out and reline, if you weren't just going to unscrew the tube and replace. I expect he could do that too.

Im cool with a regular 357.
But I WANT a Martini. Its dumb. Theres probably better options. All not relevant to an irrational desire.
Looking at them, there is NOT much to them. Which I appreciate. Love simple designs.

I use autobid to keep from screwing myself by getting emotional, "You outbid me you SOB, I'll show you" and end up paying more than I want for something.
I decide I'm willing to pay $X.xx for the item, I place my autobid to that amount and it either gets out bid, or I get it for the least amount to win.
If the current bid's $10 and my max is $50, It'll show the minimum amount to be in the lead until it hits $50, and if you and I both bid $50 even, earliest bid wins.
That's why some of Gunbroker's bids end up with such odd change amounts

Nope. I totally get it. My Cadet is among the mostest funnest toys I own, and a massive part of its appeal is being slender, lightweight, elegant, and yet a tank at the same time.
Part of why I want one in .357 is that it's a popcorn / Lay's Potato Chips rifle - it's nearly impossible to NOT go through a mess of ammo whenever it comes out. And it shoots so well I ain't messin' with it. I should probably lay in ANOTHER thousand Starline .32-20's to anneal, bell out, fireform, and cast from a custom mold for. It's logistically stupid, but crack pipes are hard to put down.

One in 357 doesn't really appeal to me.
One in 22 hornet probably would so enough already

Dont give me the "enough already" crap.
Ill wager youll find one with custom wood by some famous maker in .22 hornet with some obscure expensive scope with equally obscure iron sights for $169.69.
