Hunting last saturday I sprung 4 red deer at about 20 yds...they ran off and one of them was silly enough to taunt me by stopping about 130yds away..dropping prone in the long grass I lined up on its neck, squeezed the shot off and completely missed, sent a second shot away as it just stood there looking at me ..........and missed again.
Thought I might have knocked the scope so headed up to the farm to get some firewood and took the 243 to check the zero.
Remington factory 80gr PSP at 100m. Wind was blowing left to right....fired a 3 shot group and got 3 in a triangle almost touching each other.....went for 4 and got the group which measured less than .5" got greedy and went for 5......bloody flier......

Think the reason I missed the 2 shots at the deer was because I was shooting into the setting sun and the glare was pretty bad....should have turned the illuminated reticle on....
But I am happy it still shoots and groups...
Unloaded, removed the bolt and suppressor, packed the rifle away in its bag and locked the bolt suppressor and ammo in the glovebox ( New regulations on transporting firearms in a vehicle require these steps) and headed off to fill the trailer with firewood.
Drove about 300yds over the hill and the same 4 red deer were about 60yds away feeding quietly in the next paddock...They just stared at me then quietly flounced off into the bush. I swear they were laughing at me...
Going back on wed to check the horses and feed out..We will see who is laughing on wednesday!!!!

Happens.
Annoying when it does though.
Let me know when's a good time to call, OR get your freaking answering machine fixed. You and your mates need another good laugh at my accent

You have been spending too much time on the charter boat so your body is adapted to the rolling of the water and didn't realize you were on land. I am sure that a few more days hunting and everything will be back to normal.
