Please forgive my ignorance, but do all 7 barrels fire simultaneously?

If that is the case...... OUCH!!!!Wambli Ska wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2024 5:24 pm
That appears to be the case. One cap/firing mechanism, and barrels don’t look like they rotate.
That is a very interesting firearms!
70 caliber roughly equals a 12 bore 16/12 = 1.33oz per round ball. 1.33 x 7 = launching 9.31oz with every pull of the trigger. I'll say it again... OUCH!!!!

The description says for deer and geese. I suspend it’s a version of the old Pontoon guns that were meant to fire supported at a whole flock of geese for grocery shopping as opposed to sporting purposes. Probably fired supported from a concealed location at a herd of deer or a flock of geese on the ground or water.
But I’m strictly guessing

It's a Nock rifle, so 7 barrels of volley fire. I'm going to pass on that. Even the smaller caliber ones only saw limited use due to substantial recoil.
Re: For the Shooter who Thinks he has Everything!
Even with a light (for the bore diameter) charge of 100gr for each barrel you'd still only get 10 loadings per pound of powder

I wonder if the federales would consider that a machine-gun with more than one round in a single trigger pull.

Well, it's a muzzle loader. It's my understanding that ML's aren't classified as "firearms"Justsomedude wrote: ↑Mon Feb 19, 2024 1:31 am I wonder if the federales would consider that a machine-gun with more than one round in a single trigger pull.

I should have clarified. I meant a non muzzle loader, not necessarily the one in the article. That was my brain wandering. I've seen plenty of shotguns thatll double and wonder if that would fit their definition of something to lock a person in a cage over.GrapeApe wrote: ↑Mon Feb 19, 2024 1:58 amWell, it's a muzzle loader. Bernard Cornwell in his "Sharps" books mentions such a gun, fired by his huge friend, Patrick Harper. Set during the Napoleonic wars. Yes, all fired at once. The gun makes a fairly late introduction in his books.

All I know about Nock Volley Guns is he made one for the Navy but they stopped using it 'cause it was catching the ships on fire!:o

BTW autocorrect bites me again. It was supposed to say PUNT guns but dictionary on the phone apparently knows if no such thing…Wambli Ska wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2024 8:20 pm The description says for deer and geese. Back in the 70's all of the magazines (and Sears catalog) had muzzleloader kits. Including pepperbox and duckbill pistols. Don't remember anyone selling a rifle kit?

Thankfully Punt Guns are still legal to use here in the U.K. to hunt waterfowl provided the bore size does not exceed 1 and 3/4 inches.
