My favorite air rifle.

This is my 25 caliber Air Venturi Avenger. It's a regulated PCP platform that holds 4250psi in the tank that runs along under the barrel. The nice thing about this gun is that it'll accurately shoot pellets or slugs. Pictured are 25 grain pellets and 40 grain slugs. The 40 grainers are medium weight. I believe that I can get 55 grain slugs and I might order a tin just to see if it'll stabilize them too. So far I get about 64 shots before I get to the regulator pressure which is pretty significant in shot count for a PCP gun. The target shown here is 8 shots in a small group on a 3 inch shoot and see target at 50 yards. If a person plays their part, flyers are non existent. I honestly enjoy these things more than I do powder burners, probably because it's just different.

Good shooter. How loud is that one?

Not loud at all. It's quiter than the spring piston air rifles that I have. Another nice thing is the lack of recoil, actually it's non existent so you can watch your impacts.

I have a 20 cal breakopen Gamo Whisper Cat. I bought it for home defense. It turns stuff into mush. But it doesn't "whisper" by a long shot.

Yeah, those break open spring piston models are pretty loud. I have a Gamo Whisper Raptor in .22 cal for my tree rats and anyone nearby will know you're outside shooting, they just don't know what.

That Avenger looks amazing and there's never a primer/powder shortage with that rifle. 👍

Another nifty feature of the Avenger is that it has an adjustable regulator and hammer tension. You can set the dwell and velocity to tune to different slugs or pellets. I've found it to accurate right out of the box though. No spring piston also means that it won't eat scopes like most air rifles.

I’ve got an RWS break barrel and a QB79 CO2.
Like them both, the RWS shoots far harder, but the bolt action CO2 is nice to shoot. Pop can accurate at 100 yards with ZERO wind about 60% of the time. It’s a ball to stretch them beyond their “practical” 10 meter range.

I may end up with a pcp one day.

You wouldn't regret it. Especially if you get up in the larger calibers that buck the wind pretty good. There's videos of guys on YouTube shooting these PCP guns out to ridiculous distances. The general consensus is that 30 caliber will check most of the boxes for needs.

I’d have to have .40 caliber plus if I recall correctly (legally) at least for deer hunting. (Which I’d 100% do) that is if I wanted something bigger than 22-25 caliber range.
