Cicada hatch

One of the early SE Shoots that I had attended had a cicada hatch going on during the shoot and they were thick enough on the range to invent a new sport. A group of people that had brought shotguns started shooting them with the invention of cicada skeet. This year is supposed to be a once in a lifetime hatch with 17year and 13year cicadas hatching at the same time. I'm eager to see how thick they get.

Much misinformation on this hatch. The 13yr is pretty widespread, but the 17yr is more localized. They only overlap in central Illinois. Still any of the big broods by themselves are massive.

Locusts!
Earthquakes!
Eclipses!
Next thing you know, you'll have the dead rising from the grave! Human sacrifice! Dogs and cats living together! Mass hysteria!!!!

Yeah, the cicadas drove Clean nuts. Be worse if it happened here because she couldn't see what they were.

They're done around here. At their peak around my parents' house, they sounded like a Star Trek TOS phaser firing, nonstop.
Annoying as hell

They were bad in the county I work in. I live in an adjoining county and they weren’t bad at all.
