Never imagined I would see this in North Central Mississippi.

Both of my parents, who grew up here, say they remember seeing it before. AFAIK this is the first time in my lifetime (61 yrs as of this past Wednesday).

A belated happy b'day to you.
I've seen them once before, here in Alabama, 30+ years ago

They were pretty spectacular here, not this purple to the naked eye, the cameras enhanced it, but they were tall and active

The sky here had a reddish tint. I hope we can see some more tonight

Seen all the way down to the Florida Panhandle.
Faint to the naked eye, but a digital camera picked up all the splendor

Only headlines I’ve seen this week said it could be seen as far south as Alabama.

Last night on X there were pictures from El Paso and even the Bahamas.

Everyone should own a copy of Night of the Comet. One of the best Campy movies ever. Right up there with Return of the Living Dead.

Sure they're dumb but they're dumb in a good way and that's what makes them great👍

I was in the Norther Lower Peninsula for the weekend. My phone doesnt do squat for nigh time pictures, but they were amazing to see even with some cloud cover. My buddy managed some fantastic 4 minute time lapse exposure videos that really showed it well. I need to invest in some equipment for my trip to the UP coming up, just in case.
