Re: Another weird project starts- Tisas 1911

My first "real" pistol was a WWI 1911 and I wish I hadn't sold it to a collector. Love the 1911 and 1911A1 platform. It's stopped a lot of enemies over the years so I'd bet it's got the Glock beat in sheer numbers.

Re: Interesting Article on Making Modern Damascus Barrels.

Cool. Many long years ago I had a double gun with Damascus but never fired it and let it go to a collector.

Re: AFOSI .45

Had a grueling shoot-off with another agent that involved reacting metal targets. The competition went most of the afternoon. In the end, I beat him. He commented that if we were to do it again the results would be different. I replied, I'm sure they would because he wouldn't be in the finals...

Zee

The trigger looks a bit odd, but it hits the wall at 90 degrees and breaks crisply. Reset is great as well.

Re: Not Everyone's Cup of Tea

The last range session I had 5 rounds of hollows left so I picked a spot on the target in the lower left and fired the 5 at 10 yards off hand just for fun.

Not Everyone's Cup of Tea

So, this is a fairly recent acquisition.
Canik MC-9 Prime.

So far about 300 rounds with no hickups including a box of 50 WW 147 grain hollow points.

Re: AFOSI .45

AFOSI and the Air Force cops are different organizations. These are not original grips. Who ever owned this pistol changed them. The original grips had regular grip screws. The bobbed hammer thing was probably just the designer's idea of a cool feature and the gun was carried cocked and locked. They...

Never Owned a Kimber But...

After watching a lot of vids, decided to give this one a try. It's small. Slide's not much bigger than a Walther PP. Pictured is the 13 round mag and comes right to the bottom of my fingers. Perfect size. Haven't shot it yet, but the slide to frame fit is really close. Not any play at all. Lock up t...

AFOSI .45

So, in 82 I joined an organization in the Air Force called AFOSI. We were issued an unusual weapon as far as the military is concerned. It was a highly customized 1911A1. Pictured. The weapon was built from old 1911A1s at Brooks Air Force Base in Texas. The slide was shortened to Commander length an...
