Not Everyone's Cup of Tea

Post by DanChamberlain »

So, this is a fairly recent acquisition.
Canik MC-9 Prime.

So far about 300 rounds with no hickups including a box of 50 WW 147 grain hollow points.

The last range session I had 5 rounds of hollows left so I picked a spot on the target in the lower left and fired the 5 at 10 yards off hand just for fun.

I was very impressed with Canik as soon as I got one in my hands. So much so that when my son called me from a gun show in AZ to ask if he should buy one I immediately said yes. He loves his and has had a few years of trouble free performance out of it. Eats anything he's fed it and puts it where the sights are pointed.

Canick has a relatively small, but loyal following in the USPSA crowd. Everyone who runs one in the game has good things to say. No personal experience, since I'm so invested into the Glock platform I don't have much reason to switch. Looks like it's working great for you though!

I don’t know that I’ve ever handled one.

I bought a Canik TP9SF back in 21 to take some of the shooting load off my Beretta 92FS. loved the trigger, and just seems to aim right for me. friend tried it, and went out and bought one. need to get a threaded barrel next.

My son has at least1 Canik. He may have 2. No problems . They’re not as inexpensive as they were a couple of years ago

No they are not. The higher end ones are closing in on 4 figures now.

The trigger looks a bit odd, but it hits the wall at 90 degrees and breaks crisply. Reset is great as well.
