Longmire 1911, my version

Post by Wambli Ska »

Quite realistically I'm out of reasonable excuses and reasons to “need” anything so now I'm just inventing sh1t up… like my Indiana Jones reproduction…

I’ve been rewatching Longmire and I love his rig. So on a whim I found his sterling silver belt buckle on eBay (need to restore the black in the bear paw print) and dug up a pair of stag grips I’d been saving for something special. Also found the right holster (or close enough) and the belt is somewhere around here.

I just dug up my 1940 (or is it a ‘41?) Remington Rand and I’m putting together a Sunday BBQ rig like his… 😎

Now I’m also catching up on Hell on Wheels and my wife is looking sideways at me every time I pick up my phone. Those ‘66s they keep flashing around are pretty 😎

Looks good.
Actually a decent pair of grips.

Thanks! I wanted to go old school classic with this one. Just finished the belt buckle and it’s drying 👍😎

Thanks! I think it’s close enough to the show’s gun to satisfy that itch 🤣

Looks good. I'm betting you already have the hat and boots, just be careful about adding Katee Sackhoff to the collection :o

eBay! Tough to find high quality leather holsters anymore without paying an arm and a leg. This is from Hunter’s premium line (Pro-Hide). Don’t know if it’s current manufacture but it was new in its original packaging and the price was right for the project. It’s actually a very nice piece of leather and comparable to anything Bianchi, Galco and such. In the TV show Walt sports a very similar look but the Galco model he wears is a paddle and I HATE paddle holsters.

Edit: just found the holster in Optics Planet website so I guess it is current production. I found it on eBay for about $40 less than their current selling price.

Yep, have the hat, boots and a nice shearling coat too. If Katee decides she wants to hang with me even my wife would have to give this a nod. She’s on “The List”. 😁

I used to drink a lot of that beer. The motor cycle going through the gears was great.

Take a look at Craft Holsters. My go to has pretty much been Galco, but they quit making small of the back holsters, so I had to look else where. Craft made me one for my P220 Legion 10mm for $85.00, and it is a beauty. Their first attempt on my holster was for a P220 .45 because they didn't understand that my pistol is a beast. It didn't fit, and they immediately made me a second holster after I sent them some measurements, and they didn't charge me a cent for the correction, including shipping, and told me to keep the first holster. The company is in Europe, and they have reasonable shipping charges. If you email them, they will answer all of your questions, and of course you can visit their web site.

Nice! I’ll take a look at them. I love when a gun related company does fair pricing and has good CS. Thanks 👍
