So this right here is why you consult others with your ideas. You CANT AND WONT think of everything. Not even kidding. Bounce stuff off of others. The proverbial "janitor solved a CEO's problem type thing. Sometimes the best advice or ideas come from someone OUTSIDE of the situation/trade/etc.
Just saying that as free advice. People have helped me and I have helped people doing that very thing.
Now. Props to the hairy ape. Because that's the new name.

Well, as usual irrationality took over common sense and at 3am I purchased a Remington 1858 5.5" bbl steel 44 caliber.
It'll be fun to fondle for a while.

Currently, they are priced at $1 million dollars each.sakodude wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2024 3:52 pmWell if there ends up being extras, let me know. Sheaths….they will get one. That’s about I’ll I’ll say. I will NOT be making leather ones, I’m out of that hobby (donated the tools) and have no desire to. Kydex, possibly. Some random cheapo I find, most likely.
But, I know a guy that you know, what makes leather bits and bobs.
If I can eventually figure out how to do what a real CAD guy could do in 2 minutes, the price will drop considerably.

Good lord. It’s been weeks of hearing Superbowel crap everywhere. And now we have more to listen to.

You’d have thought the guys at work had won a million bucks and banged a supermodel last night as excited as they were that “we” won the superbowl.bullsi1911 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2024 4:53 pm Good lord. It’s been weeks of hearing Superbowel crap everywhere. And now we have more to listen to.

You ever notice that the people obsessed with sports are the ones that have no discernable life skills and work basic, mundane jobs that take no real skill?

Well that's kind of painting with a broad stroke. While I personally have no use for professional sports, my son in laws both are avid fans and quite talented in their respective fields.Justsomedude wrote: ↑Thu Feb 15, 2024 3:41 am You ever notice that the people obsessed with sports are the ones that have no discernable life skills and work basic, mundane jobs that take no real skill?

But sports the sports obsessed are more annoying than most anyone else.

There are always exceptions but almost everyone I can think of that I personally know fit that category.sakodude wrote: ↑Thu Feb 15, 2024 4:46 amWell that's kind of painting with a broad stroke. Because I suck at knife sharpening, I made a guide what for keeping the angle of the dangle correct. Still have some tweaks to make, but it’s otherwise good.

I kinda wish I had gotten into black powder a while ago. I've been reading and researching about every aspect of it and I'm going to make my own paper cartridges. I can even make my own powder AND primers, from scratch. Might as well go all in.
Re: The last person to post in this thread don’t get nothing.
Never even considered a paper cartridge in a percussion revolver, interesting thought. As for powder and caps, I've got more than I'll use in my lifetime.Justsomedude wrote: ↑Thu Feb 15, 2024 11:34 pm I kinda wish I had gotten into black powder a while ago. These are certainly not high volume firearms. They are however, a lot of fun to shoot.
