Trigger pull scale

Post by Freezer »

I've been tinkering with rifles for years, not so many pistols or revolvers. I never had much need for a trigger pull scale, but now I want one. I've seen a number of digital and manual scales from $20 to $150. I don't need the best, just one that is accurate and repeatable.

Opinions please.

I’ve been using a Wheeler Digital Trigger Scale a couple years and for the money, really like it.
I too don’t need the most expensive/accurate scale. Just something to give me an idea.

Been using a Lyman digital at work for years. Works well, and the ability to average out a total of up to ten pulls is nice. Like it a lot.

Nothing wrong with the spring gauge ones either.

The NRA "weightlifter" sets ARE a pain in the ass to use, but it's pretty hard to argue that a trigger that physically lifts four pounds off the ground without breaking is indeed over four pounds. Adding the halves and quarters and repeatedly lifting is a bit time consuming, but if you need definitive, it's pretty hard to top.
WWJMBD?

I believe we should stand on Ceremony. . . while our friends handcuff the sanctimonious little prick and take him away.

That’s the same one I’ve been using for a while. Works as advertised and the price was right 👍🏻

Ok, I bought the Wheeler and I like it! It came today and I felt like Ralphie from "Christmas Story". I have an NEF Handi that I've considered the trigger pull insanely light, I was right, 1 lbs. 5 oz. The AR pistol, who's trigger I really like, came out at 2 lbs 9oz. I needed to spend time with my wife and since she gave me the AAA batteries, I had to comply. I’m really going to enjoy this toy, and I will share with my friends.

It is easy to operate, accurate and repeatable. It has two trigger shoes for different triggers. This is a toy I've always wanted, The Wheeler isn't bad!
