First true range trip with the Garmin Xero C1
First true range trip with the Garmin Xero C1
Went to the range today to sight in my NV scopes on 2 300BO's for hog hunting. Also wanted to try some of the AAC/PSA Black Tip Sabre 5.56 ammo.
So 3 rifles, 2 ranges and 2 velocity ranges.
I LOVE IT
Set up - Approx 3 minutes or less
consitency in sensing rounds - 100% (Once I realized I had set it for the higher speed 5.56 and then decided to shoot subs first. Took a minute to figure out and correct MY error, then it picked up everything else)

Nice, what did you think of the Sabre Black Tip?

Been using the Garmin for a couple months. Seems pretty handy.

Re: First true range trip with the Garmin Xero C1
The box of 556 62 gr had a av vel of of 3051.3fps, an extreme spread of 81.1 and an SD od 17.1 from my 20" Rosco 8t
Groups weren't "great" at 1-1.25 but I was also having some issues with the trigger in that lower, that probably didn't help with the groups. I've been cleaning up the man cave and came across a NIB Timney AR trigger. I'll probably put it that lower in the next couple of days.
I also have some 75gr Black Tip and 75gr BTHP to try
I've been using mine, just in limited amounts here at the house. Set it on the rail of the back deck, and viola. I used it the other day to work up the subsobic BO ammo I was shooting today.
edited to add: I also like the fact that even with the tripod attached, I can just drop the entire thing into my pocket

I really like my Garmin. As everyone else states, it's really easy and accurate to use. Makes my Magnetospeed look like an obsolete dinosaur.

I've had this one for a while, just haven't been burning much gunpowder lately

I had a couple guys at the club (I go as a guest of my dads since im not a member) ask me about mine today. My dad forgot the tripod for his Chrony Jr today so he took a few shots using my Garmin. He isnt a fan of wasting extra rounds if he doesnt have to, which was one of my main reasons for picking one up as well. Found out my dads .30-06 was throwing a 165gr CX bullet at almost 3000 fps. Better than I expected.

I was at "China Freight" yesterday and ended up getting up a small waterproof hard case for mine with the "pluck and pull" foam. I like it
