Sig Cross - .308 Winchester

Post by Zee »

Well, I did a thing.
I’ve been eyeballing this rifle for about a month at my LGS. Loved the way it handled, like an AR. It’s nice and light. Six something pounds I believe. Folding stock and 16” barrel w/10T. One piece action/receiver. M-Lok Forend for ARCA. Nice adjustable trigger and AICS Mags.

I need another .308 like a hole in the head. But, I really like the rifle. So, after a month, I caved and put it in Purgatory. Have a 5.5x Trijicon ACOG I’ll put on it.
Should be a fun tote around gun. And pig getter. Lighter than all the other guns I’ve been using. Hope it shoots well.

….need another .308 like a hole in the head.
But you probably wouldn’t have bought it if were anything else!

Looked at one of those here and in spite of not really being my style rifle, I liked it. The price tag, not so much.

It’s over half way to a really cool rifle. In something not so….pedestrian. 😬
But, he likes it. 🤷‍♂️

Interesting choice, I too looked at it with some interest but the price tag gave me pause, cooler temps are just around the corner, should be easy to vet it.

$1500 and it's only halfway to a really cool rifle? As far as pedestrian, we like what we like and walnut and blued steel will always be my preference.
That's not to say I would never consider something like the Cross but adding a few more $ I get another Sharps. No brainer to me.

The action I’m looking at is $1200.

Not trigger, barrel, chassis/stock etc. Action.

Pedestrian is referring to the 308. His “ammo supply” excuse is becoming tiresome. 🤣

This is a tool. Not for looking at. I like nice wood and blued metal. I have some. Just find that, when it’s time to work……..I grab my tools.

I've had my eye halfway on the Sig Cross for awhile, unsure of chambering for me. Once I'm able to commit a lot more time to the range and to trudging through the mountains looking for elk I'll be more interested. I'll watch for your report with keen interest.

Oh I get that. Your various endeavors require tools whereas my pursuits are 100% recreational. The Sig is one of the few of that style I've actually liked so maybe, someday.

I have no need for those either. But, his rifles make excellent hunting tools. (Aside from the 20+ pound thiccboi)
And the action is like sliding fingers in….

Lighter and handier for that sort of thing. . .

You figure to scope it like a brush gun? You have stuff to address neighboring ZIP codes covered.
WWJMBD?

I believe we should stand on Ceremony. . . while our friends handcuff the sanctimonious little prick and take him away.
