I'm not familiar with him, personally

He was one of he better gun focused YouTube creators. Very down to earth and a dry sense of humor.

Caleb Giddings didn't get along with him.

Caleb's emails dismissing Paul were taken down a while ago.

I found Harrell's videos good, with an appeal to common gun owners, if a little long.

I had actually never heard of him, but I'm definitely going to check out his videos. Having your relations post an "I'm Dead" YouTube video for you is right up my alley humor wise.

I did not really follow him, but had seen a few of his videos. I found him humorous, and mildly refreshing compared to all the wanna be "tier one operators" on youtube.

Who’s caleb giddings?
Serious question, I don’t know, other than I’ve heard mention that the two didn’t jive.

He was on the first season of Top Shot, YouTuber, competitive shooter, "revolver guy," shills for Taurus...

He was dismissive off Harrell because he "didn't have a competition background" and used HKS speedloaders to reload revolvers (the horror!)

Harrell was a competitive rifle shooter, if I recall correctly, and a USMC and Army weapons instructor with combat experience.

From a quick google, he also writes for Recoil magazine. Unless it's changed since the last time I mistakenly opened that POS, THAT should tell you a lot about him. Though that same google showed pretty much what you said as well

...and he was a survivor/ winner of a real life defensive shooting where two men tried to run over Herrell and his wife. It was pretty stupid for Giddings to pick a fight with with someone who has "seen the elephant" and say Herrell does not know what to do to survive.

(it is pretty biased, but this happened in ultra-liberal Oregon. But the main points are there)

Paul Harrell knew how have fun with a bag of groceries. Hardly scientific but always fun to watch his "ballistic" tests.

RIP Paul

I watched his videos a lot. He probably appealed more to older people. I will miss him.
