Anyone Collect Old Airgun Pellet Tins?
Anyone Collect Old Airgun Pellet Tins?
These were in production by Eley until 1954.

You'd probably go to jail in the USA for bringing THAT one to a range in some states... LMAO
I have a few tins from a few decades ago but I don't think anything that old. I do have some old #10 percussion cap tins floating around somewhere.

Yes, it just shows how times have changed. Here is another Eley one of a similar vintage; slightly more politically correct.

And some old percussion cap tins:

Beautiful examples! You need your own museum.

Mike you collect some neat things! Keep them on the hook, then bait them again with your collection of WWI metals and things. We still need to see more of your shotgun collection.

I have some....most I've given away to a local shop that displays them.
The Black boy one.....that would have been a keeper.
Some junk that was easily accessible

For a while I was collecting all sorts of old shooting accessories. I still have 4-5 old metal (but like new condition) cleaning kits from folks like Montgomery Wards and Sears and Roebucks that go with my vintage 98 Mausers they used to sell under their own brands. I need to find those and put them together with the guns.
Re: Anyone Collect Old Airgun Pellet Tins?
I'm pleased there are some other 'junk' collectors out there. That military tin above is an interesting one; I guess that must date back to not much after the civil war. The Eley tin that I posted last is around 1850. I have some similar RWS tins but from Germany and similar to the Nobel ones. I have been having a bit of a tidy up and decorating time in the gun room and keep turning up long forgotten items. I'll post on a gun shortly that is a bit of puzzle that someone might have a theory about.

I love collecting old stuff, it's just becoming harder to find and prices are going crazy on most shooting related items.

My Dad's stepfather was an old school sportsman. Fly fishing, hunting, etc. I went through a stash of stuff he left, and found these. With patches!

You should grab one of the tins on the left and take it to a current A&F store and give the emaciated non-binary sales people there a coronary...
