Old Timers

Post by Gene L »

I doubt many here will remember those who were active members of the board. Like Dr Who, and the kid from England who hunted foxes (as I remember, don't remember his post name). Never to be heard again. Some more recent members, Teach, Linefinder who isn't posting as much.

It's entirely possible that some who are active here will disappear into computerland. Who knows? Who if any can you remember for those who have gone before?

These boards have become more of a local bar where you go occasionally to just see who’s around and catch up. We’ve just about exhausted any gun topics we can come up with because no one here is “new” to the subject. But it’s still my favorite place to come for advice or test run ideas so I can get opinions from folks I trust.

But, we’re slowly dwindling away for sure, and that’s just the nature of the beast. No new folks feeding the system sooooo…

But to your question, Linefinder and others are still here, just not on every day. We actually brought some folks back after the G&A shutdown like EricB and others. But they have pretty full lives outside of this place. I hear a lot more from Eric for example via text messages than here. Facebook used to be a good place to keep up with the folks here. A lot of us are “friends” there and Paul set up a G&A Refugees group that has just about everyone I can think of in it.

I got thrown off Facebook and have not bothered to do an appeal so I have not been in months, I probably will go back someday but for now it’s not that important.

Tigman was the bloke from England, IIRC.

I recall those as well. Doc Who was bat guano loco. And I’m not the only one who thought so.
There was another dude that was living in Alaska at one time, retired military if I recall correctly, came to the SE shoot one year. Can’t remember his name.

I'd wager more here remember those folks than you might think. A lot of the members who are active here... were active there.

I was thinking about the guy in Finland recently. He only posted in the Hunting section. I enjoyed his posts and pictures. Can’t remember his name.

There was some deal where another forum member and him met up or something, and the other member turned out to be a creeper and there was some deal that went on, so he left the internet forums.

At least thats the best i recall.

Mkk41 hangs out in the 1911 Forum. Messaged with him not too long ago. Doing well but aging like the rest of us so he’s selling off some of his collection.

I think I have Caleb’s phone in my contacts. I need to catch up with him. His and Her are no longer a couple I believe. They hang in Facebook and he’s a member of the Refugees group.

I’d like to have Mkk41 back over here. The dude who banned him ain’t around, shouldn’t be any issues with him coming back.

Turdus Merdulus I believe. Jgunpilot would usually hit me back if I inboxed him on the old forum, been awhile. I have not heard from Sixgun in awhile. noc10 was a good guy. Alphasig stirred the pot, but he was a nice contrast on the forum, the mods may have a different opinion on that. Jerrybobco was a stand up guy.

Forgot about Noc10. He was a good dude. I did some trading of some wood working tools with Jgun, hes a good dude too. I text with Alpha on occasion, he was a great contrast here. Sooooo many people were so incredibly gullible to fall for his trolling. It was amusing. People would instantly dismiss anything he said because he was one of them thar demonCRATS! Super fun dude to hang out with, along with his girlfriend. Had more fun hanging out with them than most anyone else.
Clff. From Kansas City. His screen name was K something letters numbers Cliff. Met up with him and gave him some lead for casting.

cant forget about Buffy.

Didn’t Farm Boy(Deuce?) come to this forum when it started? Or was it the end of the G&A forum? He hasn’t been around in a long time.
