Was it NYGunOwner that developed a .45 short for SASS lever guns?

Re: Old Timers
I remember when Ben/Bob O’Brien lost his poop because we did. And when he was a little bitch and said he’d ban anyone what mentioned the name of Scott Mayer. What a douche canoe.Justsomedude wrote: ↑Thu Nov 28, 2024 7:09 am Yall remember when the pedo from Redjacket did a guest appearance on the forum and we all jumped his shìt![]()

Alpha's the only person past forum member I've booted/banned from the refugee group on FB. He started the same ol poop he was doing here, and I was tired of it.
I also personally blocked him, so I don't see his crap when he posts it on other people's posts or walls.
Life's too short to put up with people that purposely set out to annoy you, for their entertainment. And I ain't married to him. booting and blocking's a LOT easier & cheaper than a divorce

How can we forget HVYMAX Wouldn't you love to have him back?
Dan Chamberlin, Slamfire, NN. There are so many!
I was invited to G&A in 2010 by Teach. We met on a too soon failed All Outdoors. I stumbled on the same group on Modern Sportsman which is now dead, all that's left is a grave marker. I still post for the ghosts every now and again. It's strange how we can develop feelings and friendships with folks you never meet in person. I've been to a few other websites but the volgar, rude name calling and snide comments turn me off.
This Thanksgiving I will give thanks for this website and my cyber friends.

Re: Old Timers
Kenfu1911 is my Brother from Another Mother who I met in our early gun shop employee days. He's still up in N. AZ We bounced a few texts back and forth at the birth of this forum and again more recently. Gotta call the little miscreant. . .
Sutureself I met a little later on working in a different shop. He retired and went back to painting and other things. As far as I know, he's still a member of the same gun club, but we've not crossed paths in a few years.

Re: Old Timers
Going way back Marinefighter (shot himself in the leg), Cappy##, Bruchi (think he passed), Razorbacker (passed from brain cancer) and that guy BP something or other just disappeared. So many we lost over the years.....Gene L wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2024 8:38 pm I doubt many here will remember those who were active members of the board. Like Dr Who, and the kid from England who hunted foxes (as I remember, don't remember his post name). Never to be heard again. Some more recent members, Teach, Linefinder who isn't posting as much.
It's entirely possible that some who are active here will disappear into computerland. Who knows? Who if any can you remember for those who have gone before?

Bob White is still kicking. Lives around Bowling Green?
Re: Old Timers
TimC was out a good guy out of Texas, had a room vault IIRC, lost his daughter on the old forum and was not around much after that. I do miss Tenmike.

Re: Old Timers
Dr Who was eccentric, for sure. But a harmless eccentricity. . Sam was another eccentric dude. He loved to sing opera and was doing the best he could on a fixed income.
What all these mentioned in this thread had in common was a love for firearms.

For as much crap as I/we gave Sam for being the grammer Nazi, I wish like hell I could shake his hand and thank him for being the granmer Nazi.
Why? He turned me into one, although a much less extreme version. Which in turn made my children follow suit. They talk real good , and are also blossoming into their own versions of Sam. They have been complimented on they’re use of the enGlish words, and had no issues getting jobs because they can axually spell words on rezumes.
Cheers, Mr Waas.

Re: Old Timers
Ah, Sam W. I corresponded with him a lot outside if the forum. I betta read his last few books before they were published. A extremely smart man. Often misunderstood. Re: Old Timers
He did. Sad story, the guy develops the .45 Cowboy and actually invents a way of making hollow based bullets in a commercial bullet casting machine and as soon as as success is within his grasp gets cancer. They still sell his .45 Cowboy cases in the Starline website and the .45 Cowboy has a pretty decent following in the CAS/SASS circles. He lives in Upstate New York relatively close to me at the time but we never managed to connect.

I always felt that when DocWho was MIA for awhile, he was either homeless, incarcerated, or in a nice white jacket with the arms tied in the back.

Re: Old Timers
He left the country for a while. I think he was in the Dominican Republic. I think he came back for a day or two when this forum opened up. So did a lot of others. Buffco was back for a few days, so was six-gun and a few others. I think I made an announcement on Facebook where they are still around.
Re: Old Timers
When he did come back he was using library internet. Someone helped him move to Oregon? Don't remember what happened but it didn't end well for the person who helped.Wambli Ska wrote: ↑Thu Nov 28, 2024 8:02 pmHe left the country for a while. I think he was in the Dominican Republic. I think Who went abroad (Dominican Republic sounds right) to a law enforcement job that didn't work out. He was inoffensive and wanted to bear arms.
Hard to think that of those posting today will possibly be memories in five years.

I think Scowiz was the guy in Alaska. Shane (Centermass) was up there too active duty but ended up elsewhere doing cool-guy stuff.
I met up with AlphaSig in person a few times. I liked him a lot personally. He's the head EV guy for Consumer Reports now IIRC.
One guy I've wondered about a few times over the years is a dude with the screen name Robert Boren. As I recall he lost his mom to a car wreck, ended up joining the USMC in the mid 2000's, and posted a bit after boot camp but then vanished.
Ted Moore was another good one who faded away.
Eli still pops up on IG here and there. We text occasionally and are probably due another meet up.
