Hmmmm. . . I wonder if some enterprising 2A lawyer can pull a "Me Too!" clause precedent out of this.
I mean, he only broke a law that says it's illegal to lie on a form that should be illegal, and the President of the United States just said that's OK. . .

It did not matter what he said before everyone should have known that as soon as they lost he was going to do it!

Kinda like Pres. Trump's proposed ambassador to France? Who just so happens to be Ivanka's father-in-law? Who Pres. Trump pardoned in 2020?
...after Charles Kushner discovered his brother-in-law was cooperating with federal authorities in an investigation, he hatched a scheme for revenge and intimidation.
Kushner hired a prostitute to lure his brother-in-law, then arranged to have the encounter in a New Jersey motel room recorded with a hidden camera and the recording sent to his own sister, the man’s wife, prosecutors said.
Kushner eventually pleaded guilty to 18 counts including tax evasion and witness tampering. He was sentenced in 2005 to two years in prison — the most he could receive under a plea deal...

That's the rub isn't it. That most people think it is only the other guys that do it. Even when they realize their boy does it, they somehow convince themselves their boy had reasons and the other boy didn't. Finally even if they realize their boy done wrong and it isn't "defensible", the other boy is still worse. Lesser of two evils don't you know.
I have already seen right wingers saying this help pave the way for Trump's pardons. You know "It's ok because Biden did it first" so now we gotta do the same.

Charles Kushner is a highly successful business man that found out his brother in law is a scumbag that was working against him on a government investigation (and we all know those are completely impartial right?), and a cheating asswipe. I probably would have done the same and hired a hooker and filmed him to make my sister divorce the turd. But again, Kushner is a contributing member of society.
Hunter Biden has ZERO redeeming qualities as a human being and his only talent was selling Daddy's time (and probably state secrets) to folks bleeding America dry so he could score meth and whore and most likely gave the government, that has chosen to ignore it so far, more than enough proof to prosecute, not just him, but his entire Biden family for crimes of treason agains this country
If we're going to do comparisons, we should stick to apples OR oranges.

So, they had something on him he couldn’t refute. Successful or not.

They absolutely did. He did it! And he admitted that he did it, and he accepted the consequences. I'm not saying he's not guilty. My point is that not all humans are equal and Kushner is a ruthless businessman who caught his brother-in-law screwing him and cheating on his wife. I would have done the same.CPJ 2.0 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 02, 2024 11:45 pmKushner pled guilty.Wambli Ska wrote: ↑Mon Dec 02, 2024 11:05 pm Charles Kushner is a highly successful business man that found out his brother in law is a scumbag that was working against him on a government investigation (and we all know those are completely impartial right?), and a cheating asswipe. Hunter is just a meth addicted, whoring loser who has the potential to bring down the whole corrupt clan of Biden the first time he gets raped in jail and decides to seek "protection". Not the same level in the human scale so no apples to apples comparison.

Re: Biden pardons Hunter
Not missing your point (or Bream's) at all buddy, it's a completely valid one! This has always been the way and will always be the way. Those in "power" will network with other's in power to their mutual benefit. The American Dream is in large par based in becoming a member of "The Club" somehow. Might not be the same club as Trump but at least one that will allow you to get good paying jobs, make good financial decisions, etc. How many of us have been given preferential treatment when applying for a job because we had a friend in the company we wanted to get into? Some call it "references" but it's really a smaller scale of the Billionaire's club in which one of your buddies tells his boss to hire you because you're better than the rest of the stack of resumes (wink).
In any case, God created all men equal(well kind'a), but from birth on we have all worked REALLY hard at differentiating ourselves amongst humans some for the better, some for the deepest worse, and the level of worth to a society should be clearly measurable in anyone's mind. There is no way a meth-head whore monger is in the same level as me, I don't care how many liberals pervert the idea that we are both human and that makes us equal. So I apply the same level of worth to any person and in that scale Kushner is of FAR higher value to "The People" than ANY of the Biden. At least the way I measure human worth...

One news report I saw said Biden was afraid Trump would dig deep into Hunter's dealings and prosecute him unfairly. Turnabout is fair play?
BTW he just destroyed what he wanted most, a good legacy. He has revealed himself as the incompetent lying scumbag that he is.

Pardoned him a whole 11 years back. Pretty weird, specific number it is.

Pardoned him back to the Obama administration like Obama told him too
