The Gun Used to Shoot the UHC Exec.
The Gun Used to Shoot the UHC Exec.
In the video the shooter racks the slide manually every shot as if he expected to.
After the 3rd(?) shot he looks like he's clearing a jamb. Cops said they found 3 live rounds on the scene.
It reminds me of the old S&W model 59 "Hush Puppy".
I imagine it's related to the fact that it's silenced/suppressed/muffled.

My theory, it’s not a silencer, it’s a “solvent trap”, bought from Temu, Vevor, EBay, etc. and doesn’t have a booster assembly what for allowing the slide to cycle.

There's more than a few people speculating that. Or that he somehow got a suppressor for a 9mm AR "pistol" that doesn't need the booster.

My logic is, if you’re gonna off sumdood, why buy an expensive silencer? For that matter why use a silencer?

Because you don't want to be heard as much?
It's an odd situation. He seemed to know how to operate a handgun. But he hadn't really tested it. He evidently staked the guy out, but went to Starbucks across the street. He had enough sense to cover his face, but still got caught on camera. His shots weren't really as precise as needed. And leaving cases with words etched into them?

If he was hiding I could see him wanting to be quiet.
But, on the street in NYC…

This is spot on. The outcome of this in NYC would have been the same had he not used a suppressor. This guy was motivated enough to go all Ninja but was unprofessional enough to make some really BAD basic mistakes…. And I think you’re right on the Temu ordered home made can.

I doubt it's a Welrod. It looks like's racking the slide. Welrod is bolt-action.

Some are saying it's a modern sized version, the B&T Station 9, but that's also bolt action.

CPJ's video has some good analysis of his manipulation of the pistol.

Maybe he used subs?
Re: The Gun Used to Shoot the UHC Exec.
Just based on video;
Suppressed semi auto
I think it’s safe to say, it was not a legally purchased, tax stamped suppressor. It’s probably home built or a solvent trap.
My main takeaway from the video is, I think the guy knew his gun was going to malfunction. After the first shot, and each shot after, he moved to clear the malfunction way too quickly. Even someone fairly proficient with a pistol would take a second to recognize the malfunction before moving to clear it. Especially in a stressful situation. He knew his gun was going to be a single shot and knew he was going to have to run the slide every shot. What he didn’t count on was the double feed type malfunction. He’s lucky he got that cleared the way he did just by running the slide. If it’s true he left 3 live rounds on the ground clearing that malfunction, that one almost messed him up and all he knew how to do was keep pulling in the slide.
As for the use of the suppressor in that particular case, seems like the only thing it would have done to help him is give him more time to get away. Unsupressed, any cop within a few blocks could have heard gunfire and started responding to the area. If a cop didn’t hear it, didn’t know something was happening, it would take someone calling 911 to report the shooting, then a response. By that time, he was gone.
He obviously had it planned out. It didn’t go quite the way he planned, but the end result is what he wanted.

One thing I know is, about 85% of the comments about the killing that I’ve seen online…..ain’t no one sad about the CEO getting whacked. VERY much “fudge that guy. He deserved it. “
