…. Have been greatly exaggerated.

Post by Centermass »

Well, folks

Merry Christmas and happy New Year’s. I hope y’all did not miss me too much.

It has been a very interesting year and I think I’m just about on top of it and over it.

I loved, I lost, and did a bit of traveling

I was published twice by the army, with one of my articles being selected as one of the three articles of the year by the army chief of staff. Both of my bosses recommended me for academic promotion.

I got a new puppy, so now I have a husky and a wolf dog hybrid. And, I will most likely get another wolf dog during the next couple of weeks.

Health has been completely hit or miss. A career of high adventure has finally caught up to my body, and the army has decided that between the neck, back, and shoulder issues, along with a case of sub clinical hyperthyroidism and traumatic brain injury. I am no longer fit for service. I’m in the process of being medically retired.

I’m currently looking for jobs back east as I am expecting my first grandkid in February and want to be close to him and my daughter.

I still like gladiator movies

Are you losing or gaining $$$ thru a medical discharge?

Well, by the time it all wraps up…I’ll be at 29 years, so I’ll lose about 2% on my retirement. But, I am fairly certain I’ll get a good VA percentage and DOD percentage, so I may break even.

I don’t think I’ll have to work. But I will work so I can spoil grandkids. GS11 range would be about perfect -

Thanks for passing through! Sorry to hear medical issues are ending your ride, but it sounds like you're being diligent getting yourself set up. As you know, at this point in your career DOCUMENT EVERYTHING.

If the VA gives you a hard time about your claim, I went through the VFW to challenge mine and they were very helpful. Well worth the $430 or so lifetime membership.

Who’s the guy on the left?!?!? 🤣

Sure glad to hear from you brother. I was about to call you after the Holidays to catch up with you!!! Sorry about all the medical nonsense but all the crap we’ve done while young and dumb will catch up with us all! Very proud of your accomplishments for sure!

I’ll still give you a call early next year so we can truly catch up! Hope you have a Merry Christmas and a great New Year!
