Nothing like the looks of a well-worn firearm. Looks like JNP used a pocket knife to make those grips.

A Colt 1911, made in 1913, for the US Army, was used in the Korean War?

Those don't look like 45acp. Maybe 10mm?

Not what the caption says...

A Colt 1911 was made for the US Army in 1913, during the Korean War.

That's what happens when you use AI to generate your caption.

AI is only as good as the programmer and database.

That being said, I am positive I met folks who thought the Korean War in 1913, and WWII was in 1899
They aren't millennials.

I also believe that it is a problem in editing and proofreading. GIGO The takeaway is that this particular 1911 had a very long service life.

Of course he used a pocket knife, they hadn't invented the Dremel back in 1913 during the Corean War of Chicago. Geez, even a Bot knows that 🤖

BTW, that some poor 'whittlen' skills there. It's a lost art.

I would have expected a higher level of knowledge from folks that claim to be, I guess Colt Firearms. (#ColtOfficial).

Also... I would have, maybe, possibly, kinda sorta, proof read the post before posting it.

If they just need someone to make crap up, maybe I can get a job there 🤔

I've found that a few of the old-time manufacturers social media feeds are good for occasional cringe. Remington is good, with people using cup and saucer grips and other bad form.

My guess is that they aren't hiring "gun people" in these roles. Probably because of cost.
