America Primeval on Netflix
America Primeval on Netflix
Damn.
If you liked Horizon (Kevin Costner), this is about 8 hours more. Except a little(?) more gory and raw.
I guess it was loosely based on actual events but it's about the "friction" between the Mormons looking for a place to settle, the US Gov Cavalry and Native Americans.
Very interesting historicaly.
It really shows the "setteling" of America. Graphicly.
Warning. Avoid this if you don't want to see people getting shot, arrowed, chopped or stabbed in the face.

Re: America Primeval on Netflix
I watched that series and really enjoyed it. Very well done.
Re: America Primeval on Netflix
I’m 10 minutes in and more has happened than in the whole
3 hours of the Costner movie.
I mean, it wasn’t horrible, but they could have told the entire story in 30 minutes.

It’s basically six chapters version of The Revenant. BTW, same director.
EXCELLENT series!
EXCELLENT series!
Re: America Primeval on Netflix
Horizon absolutely sucked ball sacks. Couldn’t make it past 1 hour of that show and I was utterly done. Bored to death and gagging over the acting.
American Primeval was very good. It was a complete wash compared to Horizons

Wait, y'all are telling me Costner did a boring western?
After watching "Dances With Wolves" and "Wyatt Earpp," I can't imagine that...
Even "Open Range" could have been shorter.

Never watched Dances or Earp. I tried Dances. Didn't make it an hour.breamfisher wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 3:01 pm Wait, y'all are telling me Costner did a boring western?

Drove all of the way to work this morning. Kidney stone #11-12(?) decided to make an appearance. Took my emergency stash of Oxy and came home. Watched most of American Primeval. May have nodded here and there. Pretty good.
Re: America Primeval on Netflix
Yep. Too many folks think Costner is a god of movie making or something but his stuff generally sucks and is too long.
Re: America Primeval on Netflix
Almost done with American Primeval, and the Mormons are **** heads

Re: America Primeval on Netflix
SPOILER ALERT.
Ok, I never got how the Mormons wiped out an entire Cavalry troop and still thought their problem was still a girl witness?
When would the dead Troopers be missed?

Well.
That’s not an ending that I would have preferred.

The best portrayal of the Mormons is still South Park..... dumbdadumbdadumbdumbdumb.

American Primeval provided an unflinching glimpse into western history that most folks just don't know about...it was well done and historically accurate for the most part...

Re: America Primeval on Netflix
They had a lot of witnesses they missed. The woman and boy, the man they rode with, the half scalped husband and his wife, the Indians and later the troopers. The Mormons didn't want to be a state, they wanted autonomy.
Re: America Primeval on Netflix
I enjoyed it! Haven't watched Horizon yet, but I was wondering why if got to Netflix so fast!
