Just a heads up from the Great White North

As some of you may know...I had a heart cath last week and it revealed some additional problems beside my wonky aoetic valve...So I met with my surgeon this morning and on February 10 he's going to dive in there and do a triple bypass as well as installing a new aortic valve...He figures it going to take him 5 or 6 hours to get it all done and that I'll be in the hospital for a week or so...If things go sideways my wife will keep you advised...

I had a valve replaced a few years ago...still not used to the damn ticking!

They're really good at this stuff. Not fun but at least it's somewhat commonplace anymore.

Prayers incoming and continued. I'm sure you will sail through it and come out better on the other side of the tunnel. The stuff is pretty common procedures nowadays. I know you'll be fine, and you get to boss around the boss for a few weeks. Just milk it for all it's worth.

Glad they found it before it made itself evident and I'll keep you in good thoughts. I had a life changing near death experience during my back surgery a fee years ago. I don't know what they did to me but I asked the anesthesiologist if you can dream on that anesthetic. She replied no, and said that the brain is shutdown and then when I told her that I apparently died because I had a NDE and went somewhere else, she turned white as a ghost so apparently something happened.

After my surgery, I joked with my surgeon about getting a pic of me all opened up.

He said he does that fairly often, I should have asked.

BTW, at my 6 month check up, I asked my surgeon why my recovery seemed to be a little smoother than what I was warned about.
He said "You're not that old or in bad shape. . . and I'm a f***ing good surgeon.".

Thanks much for all the support and prayers...I have managed to avoid any major surgical interventions for 73 years...I've always been fond of saying "Go big or go home" sure seems I did it up right this time

Heck. My brother had a quintuple bypass five years ago through the VA. Never even heard of that. Sounds serious right? Not enough for him to stop smoking apparently.

I am still here....apparently the surgery went well and I am being held hostage in the hospital...Couple of things I hack discovered discovered is that fried potatoes are not reallysupposed to to look like scrambled eggs...and it's really disconcerting to have the lady shaving you from the top of your head to the tips of your toes ask."..tell me about your children " while she's shaving your balls so

Hey, at least it was not a guy doing the shaving. Glad you are on the mend, lots of Pasty's and venison stew to get your strength back
