Surgery was yesterday and went very well. The surgeon's staff managed to get the CT scans read Monday afternoon, so he had them for the surgery. My chest and lymph nodes were clear but he removed the nodes as a precaution. The surgeon said he got it all and will confirm it with biopsy results by next week. Radiation may be next....we'll see. I made it into a room at 7 pm and, was very well attended. I was in a lot of pain but they have me on a pain regiment that works well. I came home this afternoon and I'm comfortable. I have a couple drains in and have to sleep in my recliner but I'm great with that. My wife has an interesting liquid and soft food diet worked out for the next two weeks. Thank all of you for your prayers, I believe in the power of prayer. My prayer was, not my will but Yours, now its, THANK YOU!

BTW, I had to stop by the hardware store on the way home for 1/2" PVC to build a blocker for my recliner. My 83 pound GSP lap puppy, Ruger, isn't happy with me.

GREAT news! heal fast!!

The night before I went to Navy Boot Camp 20 January 1977 was the last time I removed my mustache. I grew it and my beard back at my first command. In 1984 The CNO said no beards, I cut it off. In May of 1990 I grew it back. This is strange!

My pathology report came this afternoon, I'm cancer free and require no further treatment.
The cancer was at an early stage and confined to my tongue, the surgeon removed it all.My lymph node were free of cancer cells.

I can grow my beard back! No more heavy shaving!
